Abstracts should use the 'N2' tag.

I was interested in putting together a sort of plugin for LaTex, but was hoping to void picking through all the word plugin's code.It isn't clear to me if you are trying to use citeproc to provide stylized citation support (as most of the above repl…

Zotero uses WorldCat for isbns & their record is apparently mistaken: http://xisbn.worldcat.org/liblook/resolve.htm?res_id=http://worldcatlibraries.org&rft.isbn=038709721X

hoping it would solve some problems with ODT documents. What specific problems are these?I always get the same message, that the versions are incompatible. There is a version of the OO.o plugin that is compatible with the beta version of Zotero. But wh…

This has been requested before (as have various web archive formats). I couldn't find the past threads easily. The summary, though, is: PDF, in particular, is not likely at least until Firefox has a native method to save/convert to PDF.

What are you trying to accomplish by exporting your data? This is not the recommended means to transfer or backup data. RIS is more widely adopted and is arguably more stable than RDF, but RDF allows for a much richer expression of Zotero items. …

But where did that guideline come from? Some Examples in IEEE journals only have the URI (no "[Online]. Available:" and no accessdate), some do have the "[Online]. Available:", but no date, etc. DOIs w/ conflicting citations of URIs: 10.1109/MWC.2…

http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/4806/reference-type-mapping-between-zotero-and-csl/ Document is meant to be a strong, generic type & there is no mapping. Try to make your CSL rely on types as little as is possible.

I see the same thing on 2.0b7.2 on XP. Didn't see it on the trunk build in Linux; haven't looked at the possible cause.

No, there is not. There is a specific translator for Google Scholar that allows you to retrieve metadata for all search results, regardless of where the links lead to. When you follow a link, Zotero will use a publisher-specific translator that is …

Most styles that I've written have been numeric. In most of these, the numbers are either superscripted with no separation or have a single space and the number in brackets. I've encoded the space in the latter styles because it allows me to more …

For me, that site uses the COinS translator & I think 'chrome/content/zotero/xpcom/ingester.js' needs to be improved for conference proceedings. The site uses 'atitle' to encode the paper title and 'btitle' to encode the book title, as recommen…

The "Refer/BibIX" format is also commonly called the Endnote format. EndNote can also import RIS.

You can also use ctrl-alt-c (or whatever shortcut is configured in your zotero preferences) to copy & ctrl-v to paste.

have looked around on the forum a little, and I guess that this is an effect of me not doing the recommended backup procedure, but instead exporting and then re-importing my Zotero library in the rdf-format.Correct.did not only export my library as …

Journal abbreviations are record-specific. Change the "Journal Abbr." field for a particular record. Journal abbreviations are translator/site-specific. If you have a record with a bad abbreviation & know how you obtained that record, report …

Yes, they are indexed, and I hope they are properly indexed. You could try re-indexing them. Also, note the maximum characters and pages to index per file.I run Ubuntu and FF 3.5.3, if that matters.Me too. Test on the file at: http://finaid.georg…

You aren't doing anything wrong. However, I do not think there is consensus on what '%Y' stands for. JabRef does export MODS XML. Have you tried to see if that format might preserve this? Zotero's MODS importer does support the roles you listed.

You do not say what error you are getting in BibTeX or what style you are using. I think some BibTeX styles should handle this as-is. I think the reason that Zotero uses the extra brackets is because you have uppercase letters in that field & …

A UTF-8 en dash is used if-and-only-if you export a UTF-8 bibtex file. If you export an ISO-8850-1 file, the en-dash will be replaced with "--". I'd argue that this is correct behavior. I do quibble with Zotero's default choice of UTF-8 export, b…

Would it be better to have ISO-8859-1 as default instead of UTFYou didn't actually finish your reasoning behind this. This topic has been long-debated on here and on the dev list. There are good arguments in favor of either approach. My preferenc…

If you enable the character set selector, it should remember the last character set you used. It sets the about:config setting 'extensions.zotero.export.translatorSettings' to:{"exportCharset":"ISO-8859-1"}This does not seem to be applied to quick …

It is a tough call. I'd actually say that import is working fine: '--' is an en dash, and should be converted as such on import (unless there is some agreement that only hyphens should be permitted in the 'pages:' field, but I don't think there is…

Notes that are zotero items are stored in the database (and not separate files), you have 100 MB of free storage, and Zotero will let you index linked PDFs.

Anyhow, how can sorting be individually specified for citations and bibliography? This actually seems to be nmiller's issue! The sort element is allowed under both the citation element and the bibliography element. To have his bibliography sorted, …

You might try importing from the clipboard. This is a zotero bug that has a couple of potential work arounds:Rename the file to have the appropriate extension (.ris or .bib)Change the character encoding to UTF-8 w/ BOM, per http://forums.zotero.org…
