bibutils transforms BibTeX's 'number' (e.g. 'MSU-CSE-99-39') for a @techreport into: MSU-CSE-99-39 Don't know if this is ideal, but....

My version of the IOP translator works for me (using RIS data). When entering the DOI manually at dx.doi.org, it links to the correct paper, so it should not be an unknown doi.The error message could be improved, but the crossref data lacks an articl…

You're not sharing anything, so a is "nothing": http://www.zotero.org/intd/items [you will see it if you're logged in, but should not if you're not logged in to your account. b) you do not. You can have a group library that is public.

For elsevier, why not use the site translator by clicking on the icon in your address bar? Manually imported items go into a new collection & you cannot change that.

What do you mean by syncing through a web interface? There is not yet a way to add references through a web interface, but it is planned.

It would be relatively easy for Zotero to parse this file and add the notes o the appropriate citations. How would Zotero know which reference to add which annotation to?To get pdf files from Zotero to Kindle, they can be copied into a folder when th…

Pound signs are valid in filenames, but they're unexpected in URIs [used as fragment identifier (bookmarks/anchors in HTML)]. You can replace the # with '%23' in your RIS file or you may rename the PDFs.
-
I'd also normally argue to follow Postel's Law & just follow the spec, but (i) Reference Manager is essentially the reference implementation of RIS and (ii) it is reasonably unlikely to break things if we include extra information.

Write a commit message describing your contribution: http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/commitdialog.html

Manually changing the date in the translator will also sometimes help. The Zotero BibTeX translator can also import attachments.

Using absolute paths should work.

When creating export with EndNote, EndNote used the SP tag to specify the total number of pages for books.Confirmed. And they do not have an 'EP' tag. I'd still be conservative & only import this when EP is not present.
-
Isn't this derived from Chicago, which is CC-BY-SA anyway?
-
Zotero Everywhere had previously promoted using bookmarklets to integrate opera (and others) with the stand-alone version.
-
I'm inclined to think that we should interpret SP as number of pages for books. If SP!=EP in a book record, I would definitely disagree. If there was no EP or if it was identical to EP, I'd be more open to it. I, like you, am not opposed to going c…

The total number of pages is defined with tag SPThe specification does not state that SP can be used for the total number of pages. When importing a bib file, the pages tag is correctly imported by Zotero. It is debatable whether this is correct, but …

It isn't clear to me why the advanced search does not work for you. Can you be more explicit? One work-around to avoid hits for first names is to insert a space before the name. So, search for creators that contain " David".

But don't for this issue, since you already have a thread open: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15123/

Many styles do not include titles. Find one that you like (possibly the one for Science) & install/use it.

Have you disabled other extensions? Do you get this error in the non-beta version? Have you tried reporting the error in the "clean install"?
-
The standard advice is to open the file in a text editor, make sure it looks like other RIS files you've exported that have worked, and then to find the individual record that may be causing import to fail (by splitting it so that you're importing o…

Have you used your library from a shared computer?

java should be a 'plugin' and not an 'extension. Keep in mind you can always re-activate your extensions. There are various extensions that interfere with zotero, including (but probably not limited to): http://www.zotero.org/support/known_issues …

works for me. you might disable your other extensions, switch to the default theme, and restart your browser.

It complains that it can't find a DOI. Perhaps the problem is with the colon in the DOI & not the authors? The author names are not the problem, see, e.g. 10.1023/A:1011942620208 I think it is because CrossRef doesn't know the article titles…

I currently have 460 folders in Zotero's "storage"folder weighing 460 MB.Each folder is for a separate attachment; items with multiple attachments (perhaps both HTML and PDF snapshots for some items, leading to two folders for an item). This would …
