As a work-around, find/replace @collection with @misc. @collection is a fairly uncommon type & I don't even know what we'd want to type it as. But the BibTeX.js translator needs to be made more robust, as it is valid to use non-standard/uncomm…

incidentally, that algorithm isn't internationalized and won't handle non-initial capitals beyond those in ASCIInot a horrible assumption for most BibTeX that is generated, but feel free to fix it. The easiest approach is to put a space between th…

I think it is a good idea & it had actually been on my todo list for a while.

I discovered that two fields were not properly imported: Pages for journals, and Publisher for booksThe 'pages' and 'publisher' fields in BibTeX files do get imported. Please show a minimum failing example.I have the same problem if I export from B…

If you're getting raw LaTeX fields in your PDF, you are probably not running 'latex' enough. I use rubber to make this easy on myself. But it seems you have a question re. LaTeX & not Zotero. If you have additional problems, you might send a …

So given the current recommended practice for entering particlesWho recommends this, where is it recommended, and why is it recommended? Is this to preserve sorting within the zotero interface? My understanding was that the updated CSL parser woul…

I don't know if there's a reason not to do this. It is better than bracketing name parts, as had been previously suggested.
-
I'd hazard to guess that most notes are short & this is not much of an issue. It is a technical issue TinyMCE integration in Zotero. There is a TinyMCE search and replace plugin, but I don't know if that is really any more elegant a solution. …

We've historically avoided offering too many choices on export, particularly ones that are for a specific format. You can customize the Zotero BibTeX translator yourself. If I were in your position, I'd probably just remove all url lines & rem…

Not sure if xlst or whatever allows us to have the Bibliography formatted when it is created or if we would need to format all of the text. Not sure that you understand XSLT. You could use it to massage the files exported from Zotero into the same X…

If you want to stick with the hack, you can relatively easily switch to RIS or customize Zotero's Refer translator. I agree with Bruce that these aren't ideal and also agree that Access is a bit of a weird choice. Depending on the schema of your a…

EDIT: mis-read. Notes in Refer/BiBIX aren't currently possible. Nor are they standard: http://lucy.ukc.ac.uk/makhzan/refer.html (%Z is sometimes used for this, but I don't think Zotero should use this (it isn't in the spec and multiple notes or se…

So the solution would be just to parse the url as it is done for "howpublished"? Am I right?Sadly, no: character escaping was intentionally omitted from the url field because some bst files use \url or \href & the links are broken when the char…
-
You can't do that within zotero. bibtexformat and others can change them after the fact. But which .bst file do you use? Braces and double quotes are both perfectly valid delimiters.
-
The export is usually pretty much unordered.Presumably you mean "as ordered in the middle pane"? If you're unhappy with the sorting options these provide, you can use bibtool or another program to re-sort an existing .bib file.

"book" is not a valid RIS type. Your second record is missing spaces in the ER tag.TY - Book AU - Wright, Robert E AU - Sylla, Robert PB - Pickering and Chatto PY - 2003 ST - History of Corporate Finance TI - History of Corporate Finance ID …

pandoc isn't a bad idea in the long run, but there are issues with setting up a host (if zotero was interested in doing that), degrading gracefully when there was no network connection (it is easy to just strip tags, but end-users may be surprised),…

It is not suggested that you use the BibTeX CSL style. The right thing to do would be to intelligently transform the html markup into LaTeX markup. This is not trivial. So, perhaps we should strip html tags for now, e.g.:myString.replace(/]*>?…

Sorry not sure what you mean by code tags. The most important part of the request was for a two-record example. If you can't figure out how to use HTML tags to preserve the formatting of the text (this forum software, at minimum, removes spaces (wh…

That data doesn't need to be stored in Zotero, and probably shouldn't be (since the Zotero items might be used by others who apply different local keys to the same items).Zotero does store other information about records that are user-specific (tags…

Please include a brief (two record?) example of what won't import, between tags & say what happens when you try to import it.

Here is a citation from my Bibtex database that I downloaded from ScienceDirectCan you please state how you did that? Going to http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.gloenvcha.2006.02.006 (which redirects to sciencedirect) and selecting 'Export citation' and …

And maybe state where the sources come from. This is not standard practice (and the first google hit for 'booktitle "special issue" bibtex' is this thread; other hits use 'note' for the special issue topic or concatenate it onto the journal name).

Your example record imports just fine for me from the clipboard. There are character encoding issues in some versions of zotero on some platforms & I can't test on yours (don't have win 7), but you might try to change the character encoding. D…

Does RefWorks put the folder into a field in any standard output or can you add it as a field in a custom output? If the latter, Zotero will import, e.g., RIS keywords as tags.

I want zotero's BibTeX entries to behave *and* look exactly as my own.I don't think there are plans to support this. The output of the two styles should be more-or-less-the-same where the metadata is the same. [Note the titles differ (Gaussian vs.…

What do you mean by "full configurability"?See my example above! If I missed any differences between the current output and yours (macros, keys, and fewer fields), let me know. I use the BibTeX produced by Zotero with little modification (mostly jus…

Not directly. You could potentially have a translator that was a wrapper for external programs, but I don't see the point & I don't think it would really help you here. What are the specific changes that you want to see? If you want macro sup…
