I don't recall why BibTeX's 'misc' type is explicitly mapped to Zotero's 'book' type. It seems to me that we should map it to 'document' (despite the historical metadata limitations of that type). I don't personally see any downside of expanding t…

An excellent summary of the state of the art: http://www.see-out.com/sandramau/bibpat.html

Do note that @PATENT is not one of the types enumerated in BibTeXing: http://newton.ex.ac.uk/tex/pack/bibtex/btxdoc/node6.html#SECTION00031000000000000000 It is reasonably common (it is in JabRef & was introduced into BibLaTeX, for example). B…

Elsevier Vancouver does use the same "In:" for book sections that your example has ( see Ref [6] on the mouse-over preview at http://www.zotero.org/styles )

Don't think zotero can do anything. For some reason, CrossRef reports that the reference isn't in their database: http://www.crossref.org/openurl/?pid=zter:zter321&url_ver=Z39.88-2004&req_dat=usr:pwd&rft_id=info:doi/10.3303/CET1023001&…

Zotero doesn't ship with BibTeXCiteKeyOnly.js style & there are a few versions of that floating around. You'll probably need to look at the source & make sure it uses the same key scheme that BibTeX.js uses.

This is awfully close to http://www.zotero.org/styles/elsevier-vancouver

Your Zotero directory contains translators/BibTeX.js. Yes, you would still have to modify the file manually to get this behavior. I'm not aware of any standard method in BibTeX that Zotero could implement easily that would adequately address my ne…

I do not consider either of those aspects of the exporter to be bugs. They don't seem to be the problem that lukener has. You wish there to be additional functionality (to link to files that are in the zotero storage directory without exporting co…

It should if you are storing said journal abbreviations in the records contained in your zotero database (there is not presently a mechanism to assign a particular journal abbreviation style to a CSL style & you therefore must use the "journal a…

Your link says something about when I use unAPI I can use formats like bibtex. So do I need to implement unAPI in order to get my bib files listed in zotero?UnAPI is fairly straight forward & would allow for expanded use of metadata if you added…

Ah, I missed that point. I don't think it is needed for the capital I. It is fine for the lowercase one. An entry needs to be added to the reversemappingTable too, right (no reason to replace it, there should be a two-to-one mapping of \={i} and …

While I haven't actually tried the modified translator (perhaps I should, but...), I did look at the diff. The items that still concern me:The unicode markup for both latin capital and small letter O with a stroke has changed from using the proper…

I don't understand the reason for some of the changes in the mappingTable and for removing the special treatment of corporate authors when writing out creator names. Also, there's no reason to copy/paste code from utilities.js: you should be able t…

Agree with Bruce re. the superiority of Zotero over the built-in reference system. But that isn't to say that Zotero couldn't be used in that kind of workflow. The database design in Zotero seems a good deal smarter than the flat/limited database …

The style should be updated, as the rules for prog mater sci are the same. (page-range-format did not exist in CSL when that style was first written)
-
Try "progress in materials science" (also used by Journal of Proteomics; we should make a more generic name for this somewhat infrequently used Elsevier style)

My understanding is that with Zotero I can do what JabRef does and more.I use both. Each has unique features. See: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/exporting

We discussed this before: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15095/ If the single field is usually used for corporate authors & if people don't have a problem with the capitalization, I guess it is a reasonable thing to do.

OpenURL is limited, yes, but you can use dublin core: rft_val_fmt=info:ofi%2Ffmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Adc&rft.genre=report...

No reason for multiple posts: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/10406/2/lyz-zotero-and-lyx-integration/#Item_4

Ok, sounds reasonable. But I don´t know with format supports the portuguese charactersANY non-UTF8 character set would do for transliteration. Western ISO-8859-1 is a reasonable choice.

You can help make the Zotero translator more robust by finding the entry that failed (by dividing your RIS file into several files (each with a different subset of items)). Alternatively, you can try to cleanup the RIS file (by passing it through, …

How can I export the date of last access of a webpage into an bibtex-entry?https://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev/browse_frm/thread/501818ae761a84f8/2b3c79816cc57e87

You should not have to apply any patches and should not be using that export filter in JabRef. The current stock version of the BibTeX translator in Zotero recognizes this scheme of specifying PDFs (though it is not the method used by current versi…

For Chemosphere and Environment International, the author instructions for references are identical to the documentation used for the style I linked to. What changes do you think need to be made?

The three journals are all from Elsevier & a cursory look suggests that http://www.zotero.org/styles/elsevier-harvard/dev?install=1 may fit your needs. Check it & let us know: dependent styles can be made so that others can find this more e…

It seems fine to do this for thesis: we could easily have a reg ex to match most cases of mastersthesis. Not as obvious for report. I don't know if it is intuitive to use the zotero type 'report' for manuals & I would imagine that 'report type…
