That would exculpate Kaspersky for this particular error without making their decision to install an mitm any less dense.
-
I do exclude .lnk files if you choose import rather than link, and I could see how an import might have Zotero open the file, and that could trigger bla-die-bla. I can exclude .url files too if that helps.
-
And the chrome "what do you want to do with this file" window does only open up with urls pointing to pdfs. Chrome?
-
I have no idea why that is happening. I'm just asking OS.File.DirectoryIterator to list all files in the directory. It's not supposed to actually open the files in anyway. Getting support for this kind of thing is stupid hard because the tech it us…
-
(I don't have access to a Windows machine, so I can't test. Not sure why listing a directory with an .url file should mean anything special)
-
Oh wait, are you still on the version from https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-folder-import/issues/1? Get the one from https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-folder-import/releases/tag/v0.0.2 and try again.
-
I can replicate the problem -- the BBT db is corrupt. I'm working on a fix that'll allow it to start from a backup.
-
So yeah, full of shit. The certificate is valid until 16 August 2021, and is managed by cloudflare. Looking at this and this it looks like Kasperski installs a man-in-the-middle certificate and that's somehow failing. But if Kasperski is doing that…
-
If Kasperski claims https://retorque.re/zotero-better-bibtex/installation/preferences/hidden-preferences/#citeprocnotecitekey is unsafe it's full of shit. What exactly does it say the problem is? I've also tried https://opentip.kaspersky.com/https:…
-
Did you drag it onto zotero rather than going to the file menu and selecting "import"?
-
In what sense doesn't the plugin let you choose extensions? You do not get the popup? It could take long to populate the UI, it won't show anything until the full scan is done.
-
I don't yet know what the problem is, and I can't replicate it. But can you open an issue for this on github? You'll be asked by the label-gun bot to post a debug log, you can ignore that.
-
If this happens again I'd appreciate a debug log while it's happening. If it gets stuck on ?/? that means it hasn't even found whether there is anything to upgrade, never mind actually done anything in the upgrade, and I wouldn't really know what wo…

@piyushkumardongre WRT to the features as presented on those two links: SmartCite for Citekeys (Pages) let's compare RTF/ODF scan (going forward: ROs) to Papers: Papers RTF/ODF scan Paste a marker into word processor Paste or drag-and-drop a m…
-
How did you generate this bibliography? Word? Or the "generate bibliography for these items" right-click option?
-
@danieltomasz did encounter a problem in citekey generation that I have found & fixed, but the in the Trash is expected; just means "no citekey assigned", and items that go to the trash relinquish their citekey.
-
BBT includes a "Collected Notes" exporter that will export notes to HTML. You could set up a search for the tag, and export the results of that search using "Collected Notes". IIRC, Word supports HTML.
-
Are you sure the filename is not just in the item title?
-
WRT the first link is effectively what RTF/ODF scan does for Zotero, although from the description on the PapersApp site, RTF/ODF scan offers a few things PapersApp doesn't (eg locators, pre- and post- text). Auto-generation of citekeys is provided …
-
My bad -- it's only with BBT installed. I'll figure out what's wrong.
-
FWIW this method hasn't worked for me in years. I use selenium to install my plugin into the profile before start.
-
edit: updated instructions as per link below.
-
@Fredriksson78 If you really must use bibtex as a fallback, can Mendeley export it without changing unicode characters to LaTeX commands? @adamsmith \aa isn't mapped in BibTeX.js
-
You'll have to ask on their github project.
-
Possible and works just the same as in Zotero. Just start it once from the command line with -P and uncheck the "always start with this profile". After that you can launch Juris-M from the desktop env and it'll always ask which profile you want.
-
The scannable cite translator comes with the RTF/ODF scan plugin.
-
And with that style, you could use BBTs CAYW (which is what I think you refer to with "lookup and citation") with format `formatted-citation`.
-
Isn't it time to sticky this request? It comes up fairly regularly.
-
Yeah definitely BBT, something appears to be going wrong when BBT tries to close the DB connection.
