Parts of the site are still up though; https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_problems works, but https://zotero.org/download/ and https://zotero.org/ do not.
-
And problems with that sense of entitlement I'd say.

JabRef and DocEear are primarily TeX-oriented; there are ways to use it with Word, but I'm not sure you'd want to, and there's no LibreOffice support or MacOS support. IOW, JabRef and DocEar are OK if you use TeX. But as said, I use TeX primarily, a…

JabRef can use an SQL database to share the bibliography, but it's primary data format is just a Bib(La)TeX file. JabRef is decent if your only target is latex, but my main (not exclusive) target is latex, and I still prefer the capture and organiz…

Nice academic humblebrag there Mr (Mrs?) serial PhD :)

@Gracile flexible citation keys in stock Zotero BibTeX export is planned? Is this work already underway? I'd probably want to tap into that rather than keeping a separate key generator.
-
I didn't know this -- zotfile will intercept the file being attached, save it to a different folder, and link to that?
-
That's pretty cool but it doesn't look like it will be replacing BBT in the foreseeable future :) thanks though.
-
([zotero] used to be the default but the it exactly implements the zotero key generation algorithm which has a few edge cases where it generates keys not accepted by all citation processors. I had to choose between making the transition easy coming …

"Keep updated" works now BTW.
-
(@bwiernik how do you get the grey inline text?)
-
BBT the original-date: 1966 notation so you wouldn't even lose bibtex support.
-
@penguinpreferred where could I find such a style?
-
Both @Gracile and @bwiernik are correct in a sense -- not everything that used to be in BBT for Z4 is implemented yet, but the core parts are there, those are fully compatible with (only) Z5.
-
You didn't have to change the citation keys -- you could have picked a pattern to resemble what you had -- if you previously used the Zotero BibTeX exporter, "[zotero]" would have done the job. The parts of BBT that are finished are in a pretty goo…

They are intended to work but do not yet.
-
I wouldn't exactly call it amazing (it's a bit of a hodge podge), but yeah, a lot happened in the past two months.
-
No apologies expected or necessary. I have parsing errors all the time, and you're not the first to get the gender wrong (although that usually only happens to me on the phone). It's just not something I want to have stick around,is all.
-
That would be Emiliano, please, or Emile for short.
-
BBT will auto-translate those quotes to \enquote if you add them to the config.
-
If you want to tweak the citekey, BBT is currently the most convenient option even if I do say so myself. The pattern formatting roughly follows the JabRef patterns.
-
The part that is done is at beta-level now.
-
(you will need to uninstall the existing BBT and then reinstall 5.0.26+)
-
All the essential things are stable enough for use, and I've started putting out pre-releases which are installable and which will auto-update; what's still in the pipeline is integration work (Cite As You Write and Scholarly Markdown) and Juris-M s…

@pcavdwel the papers3 database format isn't too complicated it seems; if you can get me a copy of your database I can have a stab at a conversion script.
-
I've started using this in my tests and they pass.
-
@dstillman just always on the lookout for live test data to add to my test suite.

interesting. If I look at the endnote XML importer it looks like it's still pulling the source into memory whole first (not much else can be done with XML), but then imports the references one-by-one async, correct? I should in principle be able to …

It is absolutely incomplete; what is and isn't implemented is outlined here for the duration of the rewrite. The latest version can be downloaded here; look for the latest build-bot message to find a direct link. After download you can install it b…

@andselisk BBT can skip fields in the export; BBT is mostly usable right now but I'm in the thick of getting it fully ready for Zotero 5; those who use BBT in this stage will have to upgrade very often (and currently that's manually). Closer to a re…
