Look at section 8.20 of the 7th edition manual (this hasn’t changed since at least 5th edition either). If you want a version without disambiguation, I have a version of that style here: https://GitHub.com/bwiernik/Zotero-tools But is suggest you …

Cool. I’ll submit my apa numeric variant to the repo and add this as a dependent. @apalazzo here is a style you can use in the mean time https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bwiernik/zotero-tools/master/apa-numeric-brackets.csl

See here for where to find the profile folder: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/profile_directory Uninstalling won’t help here (it generally doesn’t).
-
Those styles look essentially the same to me. What exactly are you saying is wrong with the Zotero style?
-
I am not sure what red Z you are referring to. Can you please take a screenshot and post to Dropbox or similar and link here?
-
I think BetterBibTeX can already generate Zotero select links.
-
@dstillman Ah, it was removed on September 25 https://www.zotero.org/support/system_requirements?rev=1569441112
-
@dstillman The system requirements page for Zotero has noted that the JDK is required on Mac for some time now.
-
No that’s not possible.
-
You could edit the CSL style to move it. Look for the `original-date` variable relative to the `issued` variable. General style editing instructions here https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step The Chicago manu…

If you want to know how to enter items in your Zotero library to match the manual, see this group library. It has all of the items from the manual entered into Zotero: https://www.zotero.org/groups/2205533/test_items_library/collections/MR2N872S/ite…

I’m still not understanding exactly what you are trying to do. Do you just mean you want to sync your desktop library with the online library at Zotero.org? If so, just set up Sync in the Zotero desktop preferences. If you mean something else, can…

It sounds you are manually adding a footnote using Word’s footnote feature. Like I said above, that isn’t how you insert a Zotero citation. You need to click the Add/Edit Citation button in the _Zotero_ tab in Word. Adding a regular Word footnote…
-
What do you mean by “ When I hit a footnote” ? The way to insert a citation in a Word document is to click the Add/Edit Citation button in the Zotero tab in Word. It will add a footnote automatically if you are using a note style. Don’t insert foot…
-
@mstrahan Nothing has changed. It's just that the data automatically added when downloading from ProQuest has these features: 1. "Ph.D." instead of "Doctoral dissertation" in the Type field. 2. Archive and Loc. in Archive fields not filled in. Ma…
-
@mstrahan No, that advice is not correct. Do not delete any fields and do not enter information into the wrong field (e.g., entering the university in the Type field). The APA 7th edition style should reproduce the manual guidelines correctly with t…

Enter the original date in Extra like this Original date: 1964-12-15
-
Just the family names or also the given names? And is that the only change? Is this for a specific university? Can you post a link to the requirements? In German is fine.
-
Yes, just delete the bibliography from every chapter except the last, then cut and paste the other documents into that one. Click the Refresh button in the Zotero tab and it will remake the bibliography with all of the items. If your document is ver…

The classic citation dialog isn’t likely to be updated. What exactly do you mean “ it seems to be the only way to change the cited item without losing the locator”?
-
That shouldn’t be the case for the Zotero button. @adamsmith could you help me with debugging that?
-
This essentially looks like a numeric APA style, but, oddly they seem to be using something based on the old APA 6th edition rather than the updated APA 7th edition. Could you potentially inquire with the journal to confirm they want this older st…
-
Yes, the APA (no DOI, no issue number) style hasn't changed. Double check that you actually have that style selected in your Document Preferences, rather than APA 7th edition. Also try to change to a different style and back.
-
What exactly do you mean by "empty records"? In general, the best approach to importing from any website is to use the Save to Zotero button in your browser toolbar, rather than exporting a RIS file or similar. See here https://www.zotero.org/suppor…
-
You could potentially use the platforms provided by OSF and their DOI registration? https://www.cos.io/blog/branded-registries-empowering-communities-to-improve-research-rigor
-
These are both simple changes we can make. Are these the official guidelines for your university? If so, can you say what the university is and post a link to their style guide, and we can add that to the style repository.
-
If you are frequently working with documents where you need translations/transliterations of fields, I suggest looking into Jurism, a version of Zotero with much expanded multilingual support: https://juris-m.github.io I think this should work, tho…

DOI will be added to every type in the future. For now, put them in Extra like described above. They will show up in citations and be migrated when the proper field is added.
-
In the Sync settings in the Zotero app, you can set it to Download Attach Files As Needed. Then the files will only be downloaded onto each member’s computer when they try to open them.
