From the Manage Lab page, you can enter any email address. If that email address is associated with a Zotero account, that account will get unlimited storage. Users can add multiple email addresses to their Zotero account (eg, a personal email and t…

The best approach for this is to store the item in Zotero in sentence case, with any proper nouns and other words set in upper case as needed. If a word should never be in upper case (such as species names), wrap that word in tags.

Note that IEEE explicitly changed its guidance to use [1],[2],[3] format, so if you are submitting to an IEEE journal or conference, this is the correct format.

Please do not make multiple threads for the same question. I answered your question in this thread: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/123627/apa-7-still-with-number These duplicates are not necessary https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/12228…

If you have many citations, it can take a while for the updating to finish

Have you also changed behavior with regards to saving both the PDF and a snapshot for the same page?

Use Medium. (Type in Zotero is mapped to CSL ‘genre’. Use ‘genre’ when a Type field isn’t supplied. For APA, medium and genre are pretty interchangeable.)

You likely accidentally upgraded storage for a different account than you are synced with in the Zotero app. Check that the usernames match in Zotero settings and on Zotero.org. If they don’t, email storage@zotero.org with details and they can help …

You need to put code in tags for it to display. I would not recommend trying to use ChatGPT with CSL code. It isn’t trained on it, so it won’t give any useful advice. See here for an example for including year suffixes with dates or text alter…

It underlines them when the document isn’t refreshed. Once you click Refresh, it will update all references and remove the underline. This will take a long time with 400 references in LibreOffice.

My personal recommendation is to bend the APA rules slightly and enter the abbreviation as the author and the full name as the publisher. If desired, add the full name as a prefix on the first citation.

The best approach is probably to edit your citation style rather than deleting data from the item.

In Zotero, click Tools -> Developer -> Style Editor and make the changes I describe above.
-
Open the the style file and search for: vertical-align="sup" Delete that, change the style title and ID at the top of the file, save, and install into Zotero.

This style has the initials and additional author disambiguation removed: https://github.com/bwiernik/zotero-tools/blob/master/apa-short-authors.csl

APA style only adds year suffixes for identical author groups. For authors with the same last name but different first names, it adds initials. For items with the same first author but different subsequent authors, it adds names until they are disti…

Note that APA explicitly calls for year suffixes to be assigned based on the order in the bibliography, which is ordered by month/day (when shown) and title for items with the same year. It is a very common misunderstanding of APA rules to think tha…

The correct variables are Archive and (in Extra) archive-place. It’s an archive, not a publisher. See here for an example https://www.zotero.org/groups/2205533/test_items_library/collections/MR2N872S/items/U9NJJBEJ/item-details

You can use various scripts or Edge extensions to download the CRX file for the Zotero Connector from the Edge store. For example, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/61800355/ddg#76016563

The Zotero Google Docs plugin requires documents be stored as Google Doc format. If you need to edit later in Word as docx, use the “Switch Word Processors” option from the Zotero menu in Google Docs.

Note that APA style does not recommend access dates be included. The manual states that access dates should only be included if websites are updated frequently, which we implement in the APA CSL style by including access dates only if the item doesn…
