Zotero 6 is still functional for things like syncing, but the developers and volunteers on this forum aren’t likely to be able to provide troubleshooting support for Zotero 6 any longer. Eventually syncing and other services on Zotero 6 will stop wo…

What font are you using? Many fonts don’t have good support for accented characters and so Wors will substitute an alternative font (for text in general, not just Zotero citations).
-
Just to be sure — if you are transferring your own library from one computer to another, do not use export/import. Instead, see https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/transferring_a_library
-
(2) doesn’t really make sense the way you’re describing it. Any item that is synced as a stored attachment should be available the same way. Are you able to view the items that are automatically added on the web library on Zotero.org?
-
What exactly do you mean?
-
I can look into it, but I would recommend against using shortDOIs at this point. They are not well-supported by the DOI ecosystem.
-
Use this style https://www.zotero.org/styles/deutsche-gesellschaft-fur-psychologie

Enter these as Forum Post. Put the username in [brakcets] in the first name field.

How are you expecting that information to be formatted? It’s not clear to me that it should be included at all in APA. You can enter the text in Extra like this to include it in parentheses in the same place that APA would put retraction or other …

[Merged from new thread — D.S.] At the bottom of the popup, do you see a button to Open in My Library (or the Group the item is in)? If not, then this citation isn't connected to your library (that usually happens if a co-author added the citatio…

I think the situation is that the title is a mix of all-caps and title case, so the heuristic is assuming that the all-caps words are abbreviations. For example, in “A brief history of UNESCO”, the last word should be left unchanged.

Yes that’s correct Also a tip for working with Quarto—you should use CSL-JSON or CSL YAML to export your data from Zotero/BBT to Quarto, not BibTeX or BibLaTeX. When Quarto/pandoc formats your citations, it needs to convert BibTeX data into CSL fo…

The item type for this is Case. See, for example, https://www.zotero.org/groups/2205533/test_items_library/collections/MR2N872S/items/LVVK28TP/collection
-
This would be a good use case for a plugin
-
Type a " quote mark in the search box before you start typing the search

I would really recommend using CSL-JSON over .bib. Item types other than journal articles will generally produce incorrect citations with .bib. You can manually set the citation key used for an item in CSL JSON by putting it in Extra like this: Cit…

BJP appears to use APA style — not really sure why BPS publishes their own guidelines if they don't use them even in their own journals. https://bpspsychub.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/journal/20448295/homepage/forauthors.html#_4._PREPARING_YOUR

Can you describe the precise differences from APA 7?
-
Can you post a screenshot? For the first issue, try changing to a different style and back. When you say the DOI is not linked, what do you mean ?
-
@adamsmith Kindle is ‘medium’. APA doesn’t include names of widely available academic databases like “EBSCOhost”. For more niche databases, I use ‘archive’. I would suggest using ‘source’/Library Catalog for “EBSCOhost” like we do for MLA style. …

How exactly are you trying to insert a citation? What word processor are you using?
-
Do you mean annotations made with the Zotero PDF reader? Those are stored in the Zotero database, not embedded in the file, so they won’t appear in external PDF readers unless they are exported https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/annotations_in_databa…
-
APA style _does_ call for a comma to be given in this position. Zotero is producing correct citations according to the APA manual
-
The format is: issued: 2024-07-01
-
@adamsmith Ideally, this would be handled automatically by the citation processor, but in absence of that, I think we could add RTL versions of APA and Chicago author-date with the brackets reversed. What do you think?
-
Yes, those are the index files used for full text search.
-
When you are exporting, is the format you are choosing called “Better BibTeX” or just “BibTeX”. “BibTeX” (no Better) is Zotero’s built-in export format intended primarily for data transfer, and it doesn’t extract CSL fields from the Extra field
-
The citation in your document is disconnected from that item in your library. That might be because you have duplicate items in your library or if you previously had a duplicate that you deleted (rather than merged). As damnation says, delete the f…

And be sure to add files as “linked files” when you add them to Zotero https://www.zotero.org/support/attaching_files

Add editors to the items in your library by clicking the “Author” label next to their name and choosing Editor instead https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/edited_volumes_and_book_chapters
