Sorry but hopefully the last version: http://www.columbia.edu/~jpl2136/zotfile-4.2.3.9999-fx.xpi There are three important changes: 1. I tried to fix the problem with the error window. Click on the window with "Unknown Error!" and see whether somet…

Thanks. So 4.2.3.999 shows the message with "1" but not "2", right? It's a little hard for me to say what produces the error. Which Zotero and FF version do you use? Or Zotero Standalone?
-
So no "Debug Message" just saying "2"? Sorry for the back and forth but here is another one with additional messages: http://www.columbia.edu/~jpl2136/zotfile-4.2.3.999-fx.xpi If everything works, there should be the message with the path and thre…

WJan, no, that's currently not possible. Happy to accept a pull request if you want to implement it. loubnael, can you try this version and report about the messages that appear? It is a version with specific debug messages. The same error should s…

loubnael, you will have to be more specific. First, the problem was the same in 4.2.2 and 4.2.1? Or only since 4.2.2? Second, what are the exact steps to reproduce this? What does "uploaded a PDF as an attachment" mean? Drag-and-drop? etc Thanks!
-
The development version on github. Here is the xpi: http://www.columbia.edu/~jpl2136/zotfile-4.2.3-fx.xpi
-
Any chance you can try the current version on github?
-
I think I fixed it. Can you try the current version on github?
-
What do you mean with "Before the problem was fixed"? In which version? What do you mean with "rename my attachments manually"? What is your source folder?
-
loubnael, do you also get the "The source folder is not valid" message? What are both of your source folder settings? Can someone why has this problem try this: - Use Zotero for Firefox - Check whether the same error occurs with the "The source f…

What are your exact settings? Renaming rules etc? Can you try whether 4.2.1 works? You can get it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/zotfile/versions/ Do you have some programming experience? Just asking because I would let you run…

Just tried to fix this. https://github.com/jlegewie/zotfile/issues/179 Can someone confirm on windows and mac with the current version on github?
-
@dietmarw: Github is good for concrete bug reports (usually reproducible). Any support requests should go here though. And yes, unfortunately this thread is a mess... :( But I am not going to maintain a separate forum and usually don't look at othe…

Thanks for reporting (and particularly figuring out how to reproduce it). Just fixed it. Already on github and version 4.2.1 is under review. I hope it's approved within the next 48 hours. Edit: Yes, it was introduced this one of the recent additio…

denlinkd, can you try with the current version on github? There was an error in the master branch but that it fixed. Might not be related to your problem though.
-
Yes, looks like zotfile can't do anything about that. The PDF is still pretty bad (copy & pasting from Preview (Mac) shows the same symbol). There is, however, an hidden option to make corrections using the `pdfExtraction.replacements` option (h…

Now it showed up. I just committed a change that should fix the problem but it's only in the dev version on github right now. You can see the note with the extracted annotations in the zotfile group.
-
I can't see it. The only reference in there is "Bobak" without an attachment. I am not looking regularly and have the feeling that someone is deleting files from the group...
-
"Copy selected text into Highlight, Strikethrough, and Underline comment pop-ups" should be unrelated. Can you post the pdf online?
-
I can't confirm this. With the pdf.js-based extraction, the annotations are in the order they appear in the pdf file NOT in the order I added them.
-
Yes, that is on purpose. You can edit the note with the extracted annotations (e.g. add headlines, your own thoughts, resort citations by topic etc) and zotfile doesn't want to overwrite your modifications.
-
Can't confirm. Extraction works for me on Zotero 4.0.27...
-
Works for me without a problem. Are you using the most recent version and pdf.js for extraction? Otherwise you can try the version on github. There was a small change that I did not commit previously. Maybe that solves the problem. Otherwise I can't…

Here is a ticket for that: https://github.com/jlegewie/zotfile/issues/175 I added your suggestion about scannable citations. Shouldn't be too hard but I wont get to it anytime soon. Happy to make suggestions when someone wants to try it though.
-
I don't think there is any hope for this one. How can you copy text? I clearly can not copy any text from the pdf. Neither with Preview nor with Adobe Reader. So there is nothing that can be done.
-
Thanks for checking. I agree, the numbering is not optimal but a different approach would require a number of changes so I won't get to it anytime soon.
-
archi02, I just pushed a change to github contributed by Soham Sinha that might fix the problem. Can you give it a try?
-
Thanks archi02! I forwarded your bug to the person who contributed that feature
-
I don't think that it is possible right now. It makes sense and I opened a github issue: https://github.com/jlegewie/zotfile/issues/175 I won't implement it anytime soon though. But feel free to send a pull request if you have some coding experience.
-
I simply can't test all the system/pdf-reader combinations so problems like this are not surprising. If you have some experience with coding, take a look at the file "openPDF-protocol-handler.js" on github to check how zotfile deals with these links…
