Firefox 4.0; gloobus error after FF upgrade (openSUSE 11.3-KDE)

After updating Firefox to 4.0 the error:

JAVA Script Application
/usr/bin/gloobus-preview is missing. Please install Gloobus or spesify a custom view command instead.

SOLUTION
DISABLE the ADD-ON: ZoteroQuickLook 1.2.0

It seems to be not compatible...

B ert
  • it's compatible - but it uses gloobus and doesn't seem to find it for some reason. Is gloobus still installed on your system?
  • It seems GLOOBUS is not available for KDE 4.4.4 (R3) on openSUSE 11.3.

I checked and only coud find Fedora RPMs, it could be installed from scratch (code), but I do not want to go through this.

you would just have to build it from the tarball, which is literally four lines in the terminal
    http://linux.byexamples.com/archives/156/installing-from-tarballs/
  • Gloobus is a gnome extension. If GNPma100 has KDE4.4 only, then this will never work for him, even compiling from src, as he won't have the necessary dependencies.
  • Disable the ADD-ON: ZoteroQuickLook 1.2.0 really help, and this solution is usefull with the ADD-ON: ZoteroQuickLook 1.3.0 who present the same problem.
  • If you do not have a gloobus or some other quick look viewer, you cannot use zoteroquicklook.

If you have some other software like gloobus, you can define a custom view command as explained in the zoteroquicklook documentation:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/zoteroquicklook/

If there are useful alternatives to gloobus, I would appreciate letting me know about these in they support thread for zoteroquicklook so that I can update the documentation.
  • gloobus has just been updated and works really well, at least in Ubuntu 12.04.

there is now another alternative - gnome-sushi -with similar functionality that migh work well, too, but I haven't tried it.
