After installing Zotero for Firefox 2.0.0.12, there is no icon in the right corner of the status bar. OS is Windows Vista. What gives? Anybody know how to fix the problem?
Having same exact issue. When I go to Tools>Add-ons. It says that "This add-on will be installed when Firefox has been restarted." Firefox has been restarted several times with no avail.
You likely have a problem with your Firefox profile directory. Try deleting the files xpti.dat, compreg.dat, extensions.cache, extensions.ini and extensions.rdf from your Firefox profile directory. They'll be recreated automatically the next time you start Firefox, and removing them may fix the problem.
On one of my machines for months I have had this problem, No Zotero logo in Firefox status bar (the bottom right hand corner of FF window).
And then this morning I am reading a thread on another subject (http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3765) and the simple solution is there. I had been launching Zotero from the FF Tools menu (and Ctrl-Alt-Z also works), but I most prefer the status bar icon launch. In part based on thread above, and to no avail, for months I had tried all kinds of esoteric potential fixes in attempts to see the status bar Zotero logo. Solution below worked. (I love Zotero !).

Help?
