MacWord Integration 3.1.3 and Mac OS X Lion

I am not able to integrate word 2008 with
PythonExt 110620
Zotero 2.1.8
and Zotero MacWord Integration 3.1.3.

I am using the newest version of Lion and have not had problems with zotero integration
with Word before the OSX update.

I have also tried integrating with Word 2011 and receive the same error on Firefox's plugin compatibility reporter: "Zotero MacWord Integration 3.1.3 - this add-on no longer works"

As a result, the WordScript menu in Word 2008 and 2011 does not include zotero.

Can anyone help?
  • Btw, I'm using Firefox 5.0.
  • Thanks for your quick reply, Simon!

Yes, I have followed all those steps. On two different computers I've tried this (working on my dissertation), have tried reinstalling all the components on multiple occasions and have tried integrating with Word 2008 and 2011 while using the updated version of Lion.

Essentially, all all the components seem functional but the Zotero MacWord Inegration 3.1.3 still says "compatability problems" despite the message, "marked as compatible by developer"

I'd welcome anyone to ichat with me and take control of my comp to see if they can pick up on something I'm missing - been working on this for a few days now.

Thanks so much for your consideration.
  • Figured it out...

I opened the files in Microsoft Apple Script Editor and saved the zotero scripts in the same place and now it shows up.

I wonder if others switching from snow leopard to lion are experiencing that today.

    Thanks for the consideration!

  • I am having a similar problem:

I am not able to integrate Word 2011 with
    PythonExt 110620
    Zotero 2.1.8
    and Zotero MacWord Integration 3.1.3
    after upgrading to Lion today

I have followed Simon's steps and the zotero folder is present in the "word script menu items file" but the dropdown menu in the Word application does not include the zotero commands. The commands that are present are ".workflow" files, but the zotero ".scpt" files do not show up.

    Ideas?

    Thanks,
    FC
  • When you open the "word script menu items" do you see Zotero there?

word script< open folder < zotero?

This took me forever to figure out.... you just need to save tell the zotero file to save in the location it is currently in.

Tell me if this makes sense?
  • You'll want to save with the apple script editor.
  • We are pushing a new release of the Word for Mac plug-in to address this. It will be available in about 5 minutes.
  • Fixed in 3.1.4. For those with a technical interest, Lion's osacompile no longer sets the type and creator on scripts by default, but Word refuses to recognize scripts without the appropriate type and creator.
