Zotero Quicklook won't work

I don’t know of the add on only allows you to view pdf files because when I use the space bar to view the web page snapshots nothing happens (but then again I have no pdf files stored so it just doesn't work). I made sure that the about:config setup was directed to macomfort (I don’t know whether you need the paid version for it to work) and I am running it on Firefox 5.0 on a Windows 7 32 bit operating system if that helps. I am pretty new at using something like zotero so bear with me :)

    I don't think snapshots ever worked with quicklook, no. but websites open so quickly from within FIrefox that it wouldn't be worth it anyway, especially on windows where quicklook is rather slow.

    @adamsmith: No, this should work with pdf or html snapshots.

    Which versions of macomfort and zoteroquicklook are you using.

    Also, you can run zotero with debug output on (http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output) and post all lines that start with ZoteroQuickLook and all lines around them here.

    I am using macomfort 1.6.1.0 and quicklook 1.2.0
    I have the debug ID that it gave me from the link that you posted for me here:
    The Debug ID is D744889045.

    Also I see in the tutorials for zotero that pdf files are used. Is there any way to convert the snapshots to pdf?

    mronkko doesn't have access to the debug from the server, that's why he asks you to "post all lines that start with ZoteroQuickLook.

    Zotero doesn't allow you to convert snapshots to pdfs. There's a Firefox plugin that con do that, but the quality varies a lot and it's probably not worth it - there is nothing wrong with snapshots.

    On my Mac ZoteroQuickLook shows just about any file (pdf, web page, word document etc.) in the quicklook window. I just tested that the current version has no problems with showing web page snapshots on Windows.

    Only the lines that start with ZoteroQuickLook are relevant for troubleshooting. If there are no lines that contain ZoteroQuickLook in the log, that means that the plugin is either not installed or not active.

    Well I thought I found the problem when I found that for the items in my library zotero couldn't locate them but when I tried by adding a new file and seeing if I can view it it still didn't show. Here are the zotero quicklook lines of code

    These do not seem to be in order because init should always be first.

    It should not be possible for the the plugin to attempt to open the viewer before it has been initialized.

    Am I correct that the plugin does not work at all for you? Do you see the Quick Look context menu item when you right click on an attachment?

    One thing that you might try is to create a new firefox profile and install only Zotero and ZoteroQuickLook and then test if it works for the "Getting started" item.

    Yes you are correct it doesn't work at all. I do see it when I right click it. I will give the new profile.

    Also, you should ensure that the value of "extensions.zoteroquicklook.customviewcommand" is empty in about:config

    I created a new profile and that did the trick. I will check to make sure that the customviewcommand is empty.

    Please let me know if the customviewcommand was not empty in the original profile. If it caused the behavior that you observed, it is a bug and needs to be fixed.

    Problem Solved. I was a couple of problems. Quicklook works fine but I found out that my entries in Zotero couldn't be located and hence I couldn't view them in quicklook. Before I knew that I changed the customviewcommand and per what you said that is what caused it to stop working. When I returned the command back to being empty and put a test page in there to view it worked like a charm. It was klutz work on my end and I thank you very much for helping me fix this. It is a great plugin, bug free so far for me, it was my invalid entries in Zotero plus changing the customviewcommand that messed me up.

    Actually, the plugin has a check that the customviewcommand setting is valid. However, I had never tested this and there actually was a bug. Your problem helped me find this bug, so thanks.
