have a particular item,
either by pmid, doi. arxiv or ISBN, or ...
in their library, or in a shared group?

there is no zotero search?

this would be similar to the mendeley 'readers' statistic,

    no - this also raises more issues than Mendeley lets on - I'm not even sure Zotero would currently have the rights to collect that type of data. (With Mendeley, of course, you give away your soul once you agree to the EULA, so they can do pretty much whatever).
