bibliographic style does not define a bibliography

Hi there,

when I try to create a bibliography in Word using APA style I get the error, current bibliographic style does not define a bibliography.

I went to http://www.zotero.org/styles and clicked on install for the APA style but nothing happened.

I'm using Firefox/3.6.18 on Mac, Zotero 2.1.8, Word 2008 for Mac

thank you!
  • Create an error report ID
    http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
after triggering the error and post it here.

Then, make a copy of the "styles" folder in your Zotero data directory
    http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data
    and put it somewhere safe.

Finally use "Reset Styles" in the advanced pane of the Zotero preferences and try again.
  • Hi Adamsmith,

thanks for your help. It worked!

  • To help us see what the problem was here, zip up the old 'styles' folder (via control-click, "Compress...") and e-mail the zip file to support@zot....org with a link to this thread. Thanks.
  • Hi Dan,

where do I find the styles folder? I see the styles listed under preferences but no way to control click it...

    thanks,
    Susanna
  • If you didn't make a copy of it before resetting your styles—following adamsmith's instructions above—then the old one is gone already.
  • ah, okay. Yup, I've got it there.

    sending it now.

I've had exactly the same problem. Error codes 1097300775 and 604801261 sent to you. I have tried resetting the styles, but the error persisted. In the end I closed Firefox and Word for Mac and then re-opened both. This cleared up the problem and I was able to generate the bibliography. I am using Firefox 5.0.1 Word for Mac 2011 14.1.2 Zotero 2.1.8
