selected file is not in a supported format
Hi,
I'm using Zotero standalone v2.1a3.
I'm seeking to import citations saved from Google Scholar. I've tried a variety of format (endnote, bibtex, refman), and then used the Import function in Zotero. Each time I get the same error message "The selected file is not in a supported format".
The file is a for a single item, details below from the enw file:
%0 Book
%T Trends in the Australian banking system: implications for financial system stability and monetary policy
%A Kent, C.
%A Debelle, G.
%A Reserve Bank of Australia
%D 1999
%I Economic Research Dept., Reserve Bank of Australia
Any suggestions most welcome.
Thanks,
Greg

Upgrade Storage
Still, importing this works in the most recent versions of standard Zotero (2.1.8), so it should work in the next release of the standalone.
In the meantime, you can try installing the newer version of the translator:
Go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/ReferBibIX.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data).
It should start working again. If this works for you, please post here so that I can submit this change to be pushed to all users.
using Safari, the Zotero icon does not appear in the URL bar.
Also, If I launch Safari before launching Zotero, then the 'Save to Zotero' connector button is greyed out and has a slash across it.
For the suggested solution above - worked a dream, thank you!
Greg
the file is a text file, created by exporting from endnote into RIS format, then opening in Word and saving as text, as described on the endnote instructions and zotero instructions.
If you need to open the file, use a text editor like notepad or TextEdit.
