  • adamsmith asked for a sample URL. We have no idea what site you're referring to and can't help you without that.
  • the URL i tried was:
    http://www.sudoc.abes.fr/DB=2.1/CMD?ACT=SRCHA&IKT=7&SRT=RLV&TRM=978-2-02-012569-7

i'm used to work with zotero on SUDOC (http://www.sudoc.abes.fr) and it used to work...

thx a lot for helping me out
  • yep, that translator is broken completely - it doesn't work for individual nor multiple items for nothing I tried, all the while failing with "translation successful"
It's looking for COinS data, but I don't actually see any on those pages, maybe I'm wrong, though.
  • So, that means it's a problem of the sudoc.abes.fr site and it may be just temporary?
    Thx again for helping out
  • nope - they changed the site and now Zotero needs to change how it gets the data from that site. That might actually take a while - unless I'm missing something, this would require a relatively substantial rewrite.
  • @Marc: Yes, it's a problem with the sudoc website only. That should be temporary but needs some changes on the "translator" (i.e.: the script which allows zotero to retrieve data from sudoc).

@adamsmith: That has been reported on twitter by many French librarians. They've contacted sudoc directly: it's a bug with COinS.

I think (hope) this should be fixed by Sudoc quickly.
(Sudoc is the global catalog for all French universities libraries)
  • Yes -- I'll work with them to fix them if they need. I've not worked with Sudoc before, but it shouldn't be that hard.
  • Great, thx a lot to all for these informations. Hope it will be fixed soon, sudoc is essential for french humanities
  • This is now fixed.
  • It's such a pleasure when sites take Zotero integration seriously. Kudos to the French library world.
  • great, everything works again, thx to all involved in that miracle ;-)
  • Hi,
to complete on that point, the zotero translator for sudoc is using Coins for basic datas and adding to them some other datas taken from datas available on the page.

The sudoc team made an update to their site which removed the COinS. They have reverted their last update to correct the bug with Zotero. I'm in contact with them to see how to deal with this Coins problem.
