Deleting an Account

Is there a simple, direct way to delete an existing account (I have perused this site and am still not sure if there is an official procedure for doing this)? I have two accounts (neither has been used till now) and apparently, having two accounts prevents me from receiving a Zotero group invitation which I need to accept in order to complete a class assignment (due today). Please advise. Thanks.
  • no there isn't but the group invitation problem is not likely to be related to that - to have two accounts you need to have signed up with two different e-mails - are you sure you're checking the rightones?
    Also, it looks like the Zotero server is down that might affect group invitations going out.

    Thanks, Adam. Yes, I've checked both accounts. I signed up with one account when I found out that a class I was taking would be teaching about Zotero (I was hoping to get a jump on things). Then, when I was actually in the class and it was time for the Zotero segment, I found out I had to use my university e-mail address. I then created a second account, which my instructor has now directed me to delete (she believes this may be the reason why I have not received any of the invitations she has sent to date). This is all new to me, but I will let my instructor know that her latest invitation (sent this past Friday) may have to be re-sent because of the server being down. Thanks for the tip, and if you (or others) have any ideas about how to resolve my issue, I welcome your comments. Thanks.
  • if this doesn't work soon, have her post here with the group information - and the account your currently posting from is the one that should receive the invitations? You've checked under "groups" on this site to make sure that you don't actually have the invitation but just didn't receive it by mail? (it would say something like "Open group invitations" or so).
  • Yes, I've checked "Groups" under both accounts and there were no invitations at either one. And yes, this is the account I would like to use going forward. It is the first account I would like to delete. I'll pass along your suggestion to my instructor.
  • There is no reason multiple accounts would stop you from receiving group invitations, however the invitation was sent before you registered an account with the email it used, so you would not see it in on your groups pages and would instead need to go back to find the invitation in your email. Alternatively your instructor can delete the existing invitation and send a new one.
