Newly added styles from the repository not working with Microsoft word

I recently installed some additional citation styles from the repository.
When I tried to cite some reference on Microsoft Word with the add-on styles it would not let me add anything.

Anyone know how I can use cite using newly installed styles?
  • Have you updated Zotero to be sure that you have the most recent version - 2.1.7?
If so, try re-installing those styles. If that doesn't work, please let us know which styles and how exactly "it would not let me add anything" looks.
  • Hi Adam,

Thanks for your help. I was able to install the citation style but now when i go to a blank word document to site items it says.

Zotero experienced an error updating your document. This.styple is undefined.

Also, although I was able to convert an existing word document into the Nature Cancer Reviews style, I was unable to add citations. The error that came up had something to do with the .xlm?

Can you please help? or call/email me to assistance?

    Thank You
  • this forum is were all support takes place.
You need to be more thorough in reporting problems -
For example, have you made sure your copy of Zotero is updated to 2.1.7? What exactly was the error that came up when you tried to add a citation?

For the time being you can just use the pre-installed Nature style - it's identical to Nature Reviews Cancer.
  • Hi Adam,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
I copy/pasted the exact problem above.. Zotero experienced an error updating your document. This.style is undefined. (that is the exact error msg I get)

Also I am updated with the lastest Zotero 2.1.7.
For now I will use the Nature stlye.

    Thank You
  • @Simon - can you check if there is still a problem with dependent styles?

  • There was a bug preventing CSL 1.0 dependent styles from referencing CSL 0.8 styles and vice versa. This has been fixed.
