Open Office Zotero Integration not working
What I'm working with:
Ubuntu 10.04 (kernel 2.6.32-32)
OpenOffice 3.2 (using sun-java-6 (icetea is not installed))
Firefox 3.6.17 (Apparmour is disabled)
Zotero OO Integration 3.5.a1
Zotero 2.1.6
When I press any of the Open Office Zotero toolbar buttons, I get the error message that "Open Office could not communicate with Zotero." And it asks to make sure that the standalone (I'm not using it) or that Firefox is open (which it is) and set to an online state (which it is).
This used to occur when either OO or Firefox was force quit. I was able to fix it when I closed everything down and then restarted each program. That fix is no longer working. I've tried reinstalling sun java to no avail.
Any suggestions? I really need help with this since Zotero is managing my dissertation proposal and I need to get it working quickly!!

adamsmithI'd try installing Ooo 3.3 or LO 3.3
-
laureneparlettWell, 3.3 isn't in the Ubuntu repository, but I suppose I can try to manually install it. Stand by for an update.
-
laureneparlettNope. Upgrading to 3.3 didn't fix the problem. :(
-
laureneparlettI just installed the latest LibreOffice, too and that is getting the same error.
-
laureneparlettI finally got it to work by upgrading to Firefox 4.0 (which isn't in the Ubuntu repository). PHEW!
