JMPT style does not work properly in Word 2007

I found a problem entering citations while having the style for "Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics" active in Word 2007 on windows XP. I added this style from the Zotero repository by just clicking 'install'

Trying it in Word results in me giving the option to add a citation; choosing the article, but clicking OK wont give any results. The only option to get out is to cancel the whole action and leaves me with no citation at all.

I tried some of the basic, pre-installed, citation styles. Those do work, aswell as creating a bibliography from them. So it seems logical that the problem is not within the word plugin.

Any ideas?

*Edit:
Here is the style in the repository:
http://www.zotero.org/styles/journal-of-manipulative-and-physiological-therapeutics/dev

I also tried a ENS style as found here:
http://www.endnote.com/support/enstyledetail.asp?SORT=2&PAGE=6&METH=0&DISC=none&JOUR=none&BSRT=none&FF1=none&FF2=none&FF3=none&CITE=none&DKEY=24201150126JBA
results in zotero saying its not a valid style....
  • Thanks for the report - the style is 100% identical to the Vancouver style so you can just use that instead.

Dan - my suspicion that something's wrong with dependent styles seems to be confirmed?
  • Hi adam, thanks for your (very) quick reply! Could you confirm that the ENS style is the same as vancouver aswell (as you confirmed the zotero-style)? In that case I am totally safe using the vancouver citation style!

(If I would know how to check a ENS-style file, I would have done it myself, its just that I don't have the proper knowledge to do so....)
  • sorry I can't - .ens styles are closed and I don't have Endnote.
The csl style is actually nothing more than a link to the Vancouver style, so that was easy - you're probably best of checking on the journal page - if they say "Vancouver" or "National Library of Medicine" you're fine.
  • Adam, thank you once again!

I already tried to find any specifications on the site about their reference style, having a look at again: they use the Nation Library of Medicine style. So I indeed am fine with the vancouver style inside of zotero! Thanks!
