citation: date field as text field?

Hallo,

I'm using Zotero in Firefox 4 with OpenOffice 3.2. on ubuntu. In my citation style I have the Following for the date (year) as standard:

<date variable="issued" prefix=" ">
<date-part name="year"/>
</date>

This shows me the year after the location. But I want to have in some reasons text and symbols (e.g. "1900/1902"; "1900-1989"; "text 1902") in this field. I tried this in my csl-file without result:

<date variable="issued" form="text" prefix=" ">
</date>

Is it possible to have text in the data-field and show it in the citation (books or other)?

Thanks alot for any help!

Greetz

PS: My "locale" is "de".
  • No. There have been a few, long, threads on this topic for background.
  • But we are working on allowing more complex dates, including uncertain dates, seasons, and date ranges. These can't just be passed through, since their treatment depends on the style and language.
