Installed 4.0 Port. Fire Fox. Lost Library

XP operating system. 'Two copies of Firefox. First, C:; second, external drive (Passport). Portable Firefox on the Passport. Upgraded the Portable Firefox 3.6 to 4.0, library disppeared. Read Zotero "Where did my items go?" 'Found two locations with .sqlite. 'Don't know how to correct the problem. Assumption: one .sqlite path is for laptop Firefox; other for the Passport, Portable Firefox, copy. I am not computer savvy. Additional symptom: Launch Portable Firefox, indicates that it is 3.6, but when the version of the Firefox that is launched it indicates that it is 4.0.
