Style Request: Biogeochemistry

Dear wonderful zotero volunteers,

I would greatly appreciate a citation style for Biogeochemistry.

Here are the instructions for authors:

note step 2. Also, the link to authors' instructions doesn't work.
  • Here is the text from the instructions for authors:

    CROSS-REFERENCING
In the text, a reference identified by means of an author's name should be followed by the date of the
reference in parentheses and page number(s) where appropriate. When there are more than two authors,
only the first author's name should be mentioned, followed by ‟et al.". In the event that an author cited has
had two or more works published during the same year, the reference, both in the text and in the
reference list, should be identified by a lower case letter like ‟a" and ‟b" after the date to distinguish the
    works.
    Examples:
    (Winograd 1986a, b)
(Winograd 1986; Flores et al. 1988)
    (Bullen & Bennett 1990)

  • follow my link above - if you want me or another volunteer to use our spare time to help you, you'll need to do the groundwork, find a similar style and list the relevant differences.
  • Dear Adam Smith,

    Wow you are quick!

For step 2, I have a blend of 2 journals.

The citations within the text seem to most closely resemble "Ecology" but individual citiations within () are separated by ; instead of by commas.

The reference list is ordered alphabetically like in Ecology but the citations look more like the ones in "Behavioral Ecology" except that there are no periods (that means no periods after the author list, after the date, or at the end of the citation), the date is enclosed in parentheses, and each citation is flush left with additional lines indented 4 spaces.

Here is an example reference list exert:

Barber LB, Leenheer JA, Noyes TI, Stiles EA (2001) Nature
and transformation of dissolved organic matter in treatment
    wetlands. Environ Sci Technol 35:4805–4816
Bracewell JM, Pacey N, Robertson GW (1987) Organic matter
in onshore cretaceous chalks and its variations, investigated
by pyrolysis-mass spectrometry. J Anal Appl
    Pyrolysis 10(3):199–213
Buerge IJ, Poiger T, Muller MD, Buser H-R (2003) Caffeine,
an anthropogenic marker for wastewater contamination of
surface waters. Environ Sci Technol 37(4):691–700
Buffle J (1988) Complexation reactions. In: Masson M, Tyson
JF (eds) Aquatic systems: an analytical approach. Ellis
    Horwood, New York, 692 pp
    Buzier R, Tusseau-Vuillemin M-H, Mouchel J-M (2006)
Evaluation of DGT as a metal speciation tool in wastewater.
    Sci Total Environ 358:277–285

    Thanks again!
  • ok - got it - there's a backlog of styles to be created, so this will likely take some time.
  • Thank you very much, Adam! :)
  • What is the estimated turnaround time?
  • no estimates, sorry - likely more than a week and likely less than three months.
  • ok - thank you!
  • Though there are no periods anywhere else in the citation list - there is a period after each article title.
  • Could you give this a try

Download using save link as... install by draggin the downloaded file to any open FF window. I didn't spend much time testing, so please let me know if you find problems.
  • any success?
  • actually - this is now up as a dependent style of Springer Author-Date
