Unable to save to Zotero from PsychInfo in Chrome

I am unable to save references from the PsychoInfo database using Google Chrome. It says "Could not save item.. Check known translator issues." I am not sure what to do. Please help!
  • URL? Is that using Zotero Standalone?
  • it is through the school library ... yes, I am using Zotero Standalone
  • still, we need a URL - although it's not necessary for security, if you feel strongly about not divulging your school, you can xxx out the school name in the URL.
If the URL doesn't make any sense, provide the exact database (psycinfo I believe can be accessed through different vendors) and search terms. But URL is still prefered.
  • web.ebscohost.com
  • If this is through a proxy, then it will not work yet in standalone.
  • how will i know if it is through a proxy? the school library links to ebscohost which then gives me access to the files... Will Zotero import from a pdf file?
  • Proxy URLs look like web.ebscohost.com.ezproxy.library.myschool.edu.
  • I have this same problem, it is definitely to do with going through a proxy from what I can gather - I can sometimes get the citations by going to links to the publisher's sites and downloading the citation from there, but it never works from PsycINFO because it's going through my uni library proxy. Just wondering if a way to fix the proxy problem has been found as PsycINFO through the library is just about the only database I use and therefore I really need it to work if Zotero is going to help me.
This is one of the urls I can't download from (I get the icon but if I click it I get 'an error occurred while saving this item etc) http://ovidsp.tx.ovid.com/sp-3.8.0b/ovidweb.cgi?&S=BMOKFPEHPBDDEBPINCPKOAGCEKKIAA00&Complete+Reference=S.sh.18%7c2%7c1
I can't see the proxy bit in there but I'm pretty sure when I access Ovid it does go through a Flinders uni proxy.

Also, I was able to download from here initially, but it downloaded the whole book reference, not the chapter reference which is what this citation is meant to be for:
    http://ovidsp.tx.ovid.com/sp-3.8.0b/ovidweb.cgi?&S=BMOKFPEHPBDDEBPINCPKOAGCEKKIAA00&Complete+Reference=S.sh.18%7c1%7c1

I'm using standalone with the Chrome connector.

There's not much new development on proxy support in Chrome or Safari yet. I'm personally interested in getting this to work though and it's pretty high up on my todo list.

As far as the URLs you provide, those are (as you mention) Ovid URLs and they are tied to your session, so we cannot really access what you were looking at. I don't use Ovid, but looking at their website, it doesn't appear that they host PDFs at all. Furthermore, I'm not sure how you are accessing PsycINFO through Ovid.

Can you access PsycINFO/PsycNET (I think they're the same thing, no?) through http://psycnet.apa.org/journals/hop/14/1/1/ or http://psycnet.apa.org/doi/10.1037/a0021984 ? Do you have access to the PDFs using those links? Do PDF downloads work on those pages (using Zotero)? If you can't access PDFs directly, can you do so using this bookmarklet from your university?
