Report-ID 1418683601; FF4, Zotero 2.1.2; Sync gives 403 Error
As written in report id 210458464 I was getting sync errors.
Now I tried rebuilding my the Zotero DB from the server after a complete reinstall of Firefox and Zotero.
Still there is a problem with the file sync.
In the report you can see that a 403 that is "permission denied" error is raised. This happens after a small number or zero files have been synced. I have the 5GB option at Digital Scholarship.
Resyncing causes some traffic. Do they have some traffic limitations they enforce by raising the 403-Error?
(I even changed my password because there were report that passwords with non-alpha-numerical letters cause problems sometimes.)

"Unexpected status code 403 for request" shows up in several threads.

The descriptions also matches my errors. However it seems not be fixed.
Furthermore uploading files seems to be fine. So this shouldn't be some traffic problem.
Finally two things seem to improve the amount of files downloaded before this error occurs:
1: Emptying the cache. Actually something seems to be cached even with zotero trying to byepass this because after such a failed sync the cahe is not empty anymore.
2: I have to connect to the internet via proxy. Changing round-robin the proxies also seems to help.
I installed the 2.1-branch development xpi: Zotero 2.1.2.r8884
Unfortunately the error remains. So here is one more Report-ID 1094092920
I switched on the debugging-log. I can send you the whole output. But I guess this is the important part:
[output removed — D.S.]
I also sent a report for the same error (just in case if there is some additional information there): Report-ID 587691162
Thank you very much.
I started the sync again and now all the left over items (~1100) got downloaded at once.
(I managed to get the other half before that simply by a tour the force. Not much fun ...)
Thank you VERY much, Dan!
And have a nice weekend.
