I can't use proxy

Good morning,
I can't use proxy, I configure the preferences in the Zotero but after the page don't open with proxy.
I try
"Zotero users should be able to make complete use of the proxies feature without editing any preferences. By default, Zotero will prompt you to store the proxy and then route you through the proxy automatically and without further input. The default behavior can be changed, though. "
but I can't.
Anyone can help me.

thank you very much.

  • Can you provide a little more information? (e.g., what have you tried, what is the URL of the proxy, what is the URL of a page accessed through the proxy)
  • I try to put the proxy of the company and the page http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com. This page i can enter with firefox if i put the proxy in the "configure proxies to access Internet" but if I put the proxy in the zotero it can't enter.
  • You're still not providing nearly enough information for us to help you. You can hide domain names and such if you want, but we need details to debug this in any way.
  • I put in the preferences Zotero, in the Hostname --> onlinelibrary.wiley.com and I put in the Scheme -->http://----------:8080/%p, I not mark the optinon multi. The option in the firefox in the network --> "configure proxies to access Internet" is "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network"

I try to enter in the page onlinelibrary.wiley.com and it appears a page of the proxy can't it open this page,
  • Hello, I have read that Zotero has to detect when I'm making use of the proxy and with a window asking if I want to save it.

I have not managed to appear the window, I have to do something extra.

    Thank you,

  • would it really be so bad to post a full proxied address here? Along these lines:
    http://cps.sagepub.com.turing.library.northwestern.edu/content/44/4/436.abstract?etoc

If you really feel the need to,you can still xxx out the university/institution, but we would at least have to be able to see the proxy to even start to understand what's going on.
  • Zotero's proxy support only works with URL rewriting proxies, primarily EZProxy-based. These are servers that allow you to access e.g. JSTOR through your network by going to http://www.jstor.org.ezproxy.myuniversity.edu/. It won't work with the kind of HTTP proxy you would put in Advanced->Network->Settings in the Firefox preferences. If you want the ability to switch HTTP proxies easily, there are other Firefox extensions that should assist with this.
