JavaScript error, ID: 1729700293

I cannot create bibliography from Zotero. Every time it show error 'JavaScript' error. I also cannot install new Java software in my computer. Shows error to download and cannot save in destination. Everything was fine yesterday.

Please suggest me what can I do. Thanks
  • Have you tried using a different style?
  • which OS, which Zotero, which Word Processor, which word processor plugin what exatly is the content of the java script error?
  • Yes, just tried after your suggestion. It is working for few other styles, but not working the style that I usually use; it also not working for few other styles too.
  • be more specific with your descriptions - with which styles is it working, with which isn't it?
  • @adamsmith: XP, Zotero 2.1.1, I use it with Mozilla Firefox (3.6.16) as add on. I create bibliography by clicking "Create bibliography from selected item...' and then select my style (palaeogeography- Probably i have created few yrs ago) and save in clipboard. The error:
    "[JavaScript Application]
An error occurred generating your bibliography. Please try again."

It is working for few other styles, but not all,
  • Are these EndNoteĀ® styles? Because if so, it's probably not going to work.
  • Now it looks it is not working with my "Palaeogeography' one that I have created. Working fine with other.
  • which non-custom style isn't working? Also, post you palaeogeography style to an open gist at gist.github.com and post a link here.
  • @Simon:
    1) I'm not sure: But I have created bibliography from that as follows :
"Gingele, F., De Deckker, P. and Norman, M., 2007. Late Pleistocene and Holocene climate of SE Australia reconstructed from dust and river loads deposited offshore the River Murray Mouth. Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 255(3-4): 257-272. "

can I create it from any other style?

    2) Also, I cannot save Book sections in Zotero, How can I do that? e.g.
"Appleby, PG: Chronostratigraphic techniques in recent sediments In: Tracking Environmental Change Using Lake Sediments, Basin Analysis, Coring and Chronological Techniques Vol. 1, Edited by WM Last and JP Smol. Kluwer Academic Publishers, The Netherlands 2001."
  • 1) it doesn't matter how it looks formatted - we need to know where you got the style or if you wrote it yourself.

2.) in general, please limit each thread to one questions, but the answer is here

  • Thank you all.
Probably I have saved/renamed the "Palaeogeography" from "Harvard Reference format 1 (Author-Date)". I did not write myself.
  • ok - it's almost certainly a problem with that style - if you want help, you'll need to provide us with a copy of the style. If it's just a copy of Harvard 1, I suggest you just use that style.
  • It is little different than Harvard. How can I copy of the style so that I can send you? I have no experience of it. Sorry for that.
