Annotating on a Mac OS X

Hi, I just began using Zotero, and I saved a number of pages in collections, but now when I open the snapshots, I cannot annotate or highlight at all. I hit the annotate button and absolutely nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea how I can get annotate to work? I have never been able to try it out, so I don't even know what is supposed to happen when I hit the annotate button. All I know is that nothing happens when I try it! Highlight seemed to work earlier, but now I can't get that to work either. Anyone have any tips?

    Laura, a limited work-around to the annotation inconsistencies & problems in Zotero that seems to be working well for me is the Firefox add-on "scrapbook." With the scrapbook "edit before capture" feature, you can annotate, highlight & also remove parts of web pages. However, this only works to make changes on the original web page, before you download it into Zotero; can't make additional annotations this way later.
