How to Install Standalone Alpha?

Brand new to Zotero and looking for info on how to install Standalone Alpha.

    Also, I am running Windows XP.

    There is no installation needed, as far as I know (though I'm also quite new to Z), but for me it works just fine like this. Just click the .exe after unzipping the file, then the program will start.
    I don't know if that's needed, but I extracted the zipped file to my "program files" folder.

    I think it works the same for XP and Win7 (which is what I use)

    I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit version on my laptop and desktop. Zotero standalone runs fine on the laptop but I get an error message on my desktop: "There was an error starting Zotero". Any thoughts? I tried running as administrator. I use Avira antivirus protection.
