Icelandic translation and Laws citation

Hello
I have two question, maybe I should have made two topics.
1. Can I translate both the citation and bibliography?
I am trying to translate "&" between authors, and nd. and those words to my language, but I find no translation files or any information how I can translate this words. It seems that there is no way of doing this locally, and I can't find where I can have this to fit into next version.

2. I am using APA and would like to add a document type for "laws" into the style. The icelandic laws citation and bibliography do not fit so well to APA. They look like this in bibliography
<italic>Name of the law</italic> no. 21/2011
The citation in text would be like
Name of the law no. 21/2011 and after the first one it is without the number.

We have also parlament documentation, both document and speeches.
The explanation is like this (taken from the a icelandic bibliography guide)
We have documentation number or the speakers name. Then there is the year, which is the congress year. After that we have the name of the document and next to that there is italic name of the collection (name, volume, page numbers)
Document 1281. (2002-2003). Committee opinion about tax races. <italic>A-parlament, 128,</italic>, 5761-5762.
In text it would be (Document 1281, 2002-2003)

Hope this is understandable, and doable.

    1. This can be done in a local copy of a style - for Zotero 2.0.9, documentation is here:

    2. For the bills I'd use bill or statute in Zotero - both are labeled "bill" for csl
    for parliament documentation you should be able to do with report, though might have to tinker with the style.

    Thanks for this, this helped a lot. Maybe I can someday translate this file locales-is-IS.xml so others can use it, where would I send it after translation?

    I made some changes to the "bill" to have it working.

    As Zotero 2.1 is close to being released, it would be handiest if you translated the CSL 1.0 locale file. See https://bitbucket.org/bdarcus/csl-locales/wiki/Home for some instructions. As translation hasn't started yet on Icelandic, you can start from the en-US locale: https://bitbucket.org/bdarcus/csl-locales/raw/tip/locales-en-US.xml

    When you're done translating, you can paste the translation into a online document at https://gist.github.com/ and post the link to it here.

    Committed, thanks! Dan, can you add this CSL 1.0 locale to the Zotero SVN? Bruce rearranged the locales files, so the CSL 1.0 locales are now in the root of the default branch of the hg repository.

    Is there a nightly build or something where I can try if the translation fits the context. Or maybe I will just follow when the next RC is released and see how the translation looks and feels.

    Your translations have been added to the trunk and 2.1 branch. You can install the trunk via http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/svn_and_trac_access#development_xpi (but be sure to back up first).

    I tested it and found some translation that didn't fit so I changed them. You can look at the new translation at https://gist.github.com/866106.
    Also I found that it sometimes have "available at" and that can't be translated in the .xml file because it is missing.
    Also from my tests it seems that it uses author multiple for only one author like
    Authors : john doe
    Also I couldn't get editor and translator to work if I had the same person doing both.

    ps. I don't know what "generic base" and "ibid" is so that translation may come later if and when I find out.

    There is no CSL term for "available at" (although maybe there should be one). Styles like http://www.zotero.org/styles/ama/dev just hard code the text (e.g. <text value="Available at:" suffix=" "/>), but this has the disadvantage that it doesn't automatically translate.
    I don't know what "generic base" and "ibid" is
    "generic base" is one of the categories to which CSL styles can be assigned. "generic base" is for styles that are very general (like Harvard) and don't belong to any particular field of study.

    "ibid." is a Latin term, and usually shouldn't be translated. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibid.
