I was wondering if it was possible to color code an item. I've had a quick search around the forum to see if this was possible, as I assumed if mozilla thunderbird can do it, surely zotero can too! I then came across this discussion from 2007 (http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1787/simple-marking-of-items/) and it was exactly what I was looking for, but it doesn't seem to have been implemented as far as I'm aware, despite the fact a lot of people thought it was a good idea? I thought I'd bring this up as a new topic, rather than posting on an old thread, so firstly, am I just being an idiot and this seemly basic feature is already included in a fantastic piece of software? Secondly, if not, are any of the developers looking at implementing this in the future? Thirdly, if this isn't going to be implemented, why the heck not?! I would personally find it a very helpful feature to be able to right click an item>mark/highlight and then choose from a preset range of colors, as you can in thunderbird for example, or control/command and a number for even quicker highlighting. I know you can use tags to mark things, but I think coding something by color gives a user even more options for simple and easy organisation.
