Export to Wikipedia template 2.1 beta

This fails on both Ubuntu and Windows 7. The progress bar runs without end.
  • See my post 15766 concerning this and FF on OS 10.6 (Zotero 2.1b2)

This serious problem seems to be unresolved.

is there any platform without this export-to-Wikipedia-template problem?

Maybe the Wikipedia template export should be removed until this is fixed.
  • No, this is broken. I haven't yet made a serious attempt to pin down the cause, but a lot changed in the translator (export) system between 2.1b1 and 2.1b2. It can and should still be fixed.
  • Thank you, ajlyon.

As this problem requires a force-quit of FF (and much frustration when also logged-in to a subscription website) my thinking was that the Wikipedia export translator be temporarily suspended until fixed.

    Thanks again.
  • I'm not seeing what is causing this to happen. The Wikipedia export translator has not seen any significant changes in the past few years, so my instinct (supported by my attempts to eliminate this or make any progress in diagnosing it) is that the translator is just fine, but it is exposing some bug in the translation machinery.

When I look at debug output, the export gets stuck doing something with date processing.
  • The unstated thesis of my post above is that this will need attention from people with more experience hacking the Zotero translation machinery.
  • This appears to have fixed on the trunk, so it should go away in 2.1b5.
