EBSCO

Since EBSCO has updated itself to a new format, when I go to an individual page there is no longer any zotero article icon in the task bar. There is still a folder one when I have a list of articles, but clicking on it and choosing an article simply gives the message:

Could not save item. An error occurred while saving this item.

Is anyone else having trouble with this or is it just an issue on my computer?

Thanks
Andy
  • I have a exactly same problem with you
  • The error message should include a link to this page:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/known_translator_issues
which (correctly) lists EBSCO as temporarily broken.

You can use EBSCO's citation export function -->export to Reference Manager
    as a workaround.
  • Any update on this, I get this error as well.

I reported the error it is 1352798293.
  • I know very annoying
  • EBSCO should be working currently. If not, provide both a sample URL _and_ a search string/database so we can have a look.
  • I still have problems with EBSCO. Ie. http://han.uni.opole.pl/han/ebsco/web.ebscohost.com/ehost/detail?vid=5&hid=112&sid=d3101c5a-8a8d-42a6-85c4-582104485748%40sessionmgr111&bdata=JnNpdGU9ZWhvc3QtbGl2ZQ%3d%3d#db=a9h&AN=33826378#db=a9h&AN=33826378

I have set up proxy like this- hostnames: web.ebscohost.com, content.ebscohost.com; scheme: http://han.uni.opole.pl/han/ebsco/%h/%p

Page is properly recognized - tooltip at the address says "Save to Zotero (EBSCOhost)" but after clicking I just get "Could not save item".
When I am trying to save from search list it works fine, except it does not grab the pdf file associated with an article.

    I am using Zotero 2.0.9
  • pdfs don't work from EBSCO at this time.
For the rest, provide a search string and an error report ID.
  • I get an error (Could not save item) when a try to save citations from EBSCO.
    The link is https://web.ebscohost.com/ehost/detail?hid=113&sid=fca4ccae-ce31-4b43-b7ca-4d27ff5a5d35%40sessionmgr114&vid=11&bdata=JnNpdGU9ZWhvc3QtbGl2ZQ%3d%3d#db=buh&AN=55292877

    Debug ID is D1086344515
  • Error Report Number: 2071361026

I'm doing searches on CINAHL Plus with Full Text. and I am unable to capture any citations. When I click on the icon in the address bar I get the following message:

    Could Not Save Item.
An error occurred while saving this item. Check known Translator Issues for more problems.

Went the through known issues, checked all settings, restarted Firefox and restarted computer with no change in result. The error report referenced above states the following:

[JavaScript Error: "uncaught exception: [Exception... "Cannot modify properties of a WrappedNative" nsresult: "0x80570034 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CANT_MODIFY_PROP_ON_WN)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/bindings/autocomplete.xml :: onxblpopuphiding :: line 825" data: no]"]

I did not have the opportunity to select continue as this error did not appear as a pop-up. I thought this might be a problem with the specific database, CINAHL via EBSCO, but others in my group are able to capture citations form this database.

When I mouse over the icon in the address bar, I get "Save to Zotero (EBSCOhost)". Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
  • I continue to have problems with EBSCO despite the fact that it's no longer listed on the known translator issues page. I find that most of the time I can get items saved to zotero from the results page with the folder icon, but at an individual result page, clicking on add item from the address bar gives me the error.

Same as above, mousing over gets the "Save to Zotero (EBSCOhost)" but when I try to save, I get a "could not save item" message.

I'm using the International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance from Rutgers. A
