Installation problem when upgrading to Mac's Leopard
Hi, all,
We just upgraded a Mac to Leopard and when we reinstalled Firefox 2.0, we got a hash mark through the Zotero icon and a message that there was a startup error with Zotero.
Another nearly identical machine with Leopard doesn't have the problem.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Gary

Thanks for the reply. Here is the "chrome" error from the log. There were two of them:
Error: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsILocalFile.persistentDescriptor]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/zotero.js :: getZoteroDirectory :: line 293" data: no]

Hope this helps.

Were you using a non-standard data directory location? If so, go to the Zotero prefs (which I think you can still access by going to Tools->Add-ons and control-clicking on the Zotero line) and reselect the directory. If that doesn't work, you can go to about:config, search for extensions.zotero.dataDir, control-click it and choose Reset, and then set the custom location again after restarting.
Obviously you'll want to make sure you've backed up your data directory before messing around, though just changing that setting shouldn't actually affect any data.
