Firefox keeps crashing cannot access zotero can I re-install?

Hello,

Is it possible to somehow put zotero onto Safari whilst I try and sort out my firefox problems... Is there a back-up somewhere?

    I've had to stop using Firefox and Zotero because Firefox crashes every time I try to open it. It used to give me various error messages:

    zoterofilestorage.s3.amazonaws.com:443 uses an invalid security certificate
    ⁃ The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted.
    ⁃ Warning: Unresponsive scriptA script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

    - but lately, it just hangs and never opens - even in safe mode. I've uninstalled Firefox and Zotero, and re-installed them, with no success. It works fine on my work mac, but not on my MacBook Pro.

    Can anyone help?

    for the two specific errors:
    1. This is a syncing error - turn off automatic syncing. This is odd, though, because amazon certainly has a valid certificate.

    But if FF crashes in safe mode, it's not likely (actually - highly, highly unlikely) to be Zotero.
    Something else seems to be breaking your FF installation. I'd check your hard disk integrity and things like that. Maybe someone else has an idea - also, probably worth to try the mozilla forums.

    Actually, are you talking about Firefox safe mode or Windows safe mode? The latter won't do much here. If so, try the former: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe mode

    Edit: Oh. Except you're on a Mac. Well, these days you could be running Windows on a Mac, so maybe this'll be helpful. Otherwise, adamsmith's advise is the best we can do-- this is very unlikely to be a Zotero issue and is probably indicative of some other problem on the machine.
