Script not responding chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/translate.js:59

When Firefox starts I get the error message

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/translate.js:59"

As per previous advice, I've been hitting the 'continue' key, which temporarily seems to sort things out, but I get the same message every time I start Firefox for the first time on starting up the computer. Is there anything I can do to stop this occurring?

Many thanks
  • I'm in the same boat -- happens every time I first start Firefox each day. I've been hitting stop script, so I'll try continue tomorrow. Anyone know of a fix?
  • I get a similar problem with a slightly different message. Is there any news on a fix?

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script\now or you can continue to see if \the script will complete.

  • Simon's post has the answer. I've been getting these chrome script warnings for months now, and no amount of telling the script to continue ever helped. With the one simple change that Simon's help file suggests, the problem is gone, and Zotero loads and executes like a brand new program. Thanks!
