Groups-Members

Hi everyone,

some months ago, i created a group that contains 7 members. After a while i invited new collegues to this group. Now, one of the new members also sees my private library, although i never created a groupmembership for this library. Does anyone know how to solve this? Since I neither have a group nor a list of members for this group, i cannot remove any members.
Also, one of my collegues is shown as owner of this group, however, I am the owner of the group. How can I change this?

Many thanks in advance!

    What does that mean?

You're admin of a group. You're not owner of any groups. Ownership can be transferred via the website.
  • Dear Dan,
Thanks for you answer. I'll try to explain what is exactly the problem. I've got to Libraries (one which I share with collegues and one for my own research). Just one of my collegues also sees my own, non-shared library. I did not invite her to my library. She also sees just a part of the shared library (i.e. not all folders).
How can I solve this? I tried to delete her account, register her again, send her a new invitation etc. None of this seems to work.
    Thanks for your answer!
  • Dear Dan,
Just one more remark: The one assigned as 'owner' hasn't set up this library. I did. Does she have to transfer this ownership or can I do this myself? And also: how? Via which button?
    Thanks!

I believe she does - on the Zotero page under
Groups ---> Manage Group ---> Members
I've got t[w]o Libraries (one which I share with collegues and one for my own research).
you need to be precise with your wording in order for us to understand what's going on. Do you have a library and a public group? Do you have two groups, one private one public? Do you actually have two libraries?
  • Sorry, I have got one library, which contains two folders (that each have subfolders). One of these folders (i.e. not subfolders) is a Group library, which I share with other people.
  • This sounds like said user once accidentally synced with your account - maybe using your computer or a computer where you had left your name and password in the sync panel.

Thus she's seeing your library. If she's not seeing the entire group library, it might be that her sync isn't working anymore - can you test that?
  • Could be that she synced accidentally with my account. Can I somehow redo this?

Her sync is not working as far as it still does not show all folders. But I guess after solving the above problem, she can sync with her own account and then she will see all folders, won't she?

    Thanks.
  • Could you please tell me how i can redo the sync mentioned above? Thank you.
