restarted firefox, reboot PC, no change

    i had the same problem after installing zotero, and than whilst sync.
    kav_Loger: TypeError: tbAllSites is null

    reinstalled zotero... the same

    jagalliers: Try disabling any security software you have installed or, if this is a network drive, try on a local drive.

    Two computers, on the same network, similar zotero setup (local drive, firefox profile directory) and essentially running the same security software. The only, tangible, difference would appear to be Ad-Aware. When ad-watch live disabled, get the following sync error (email address altered)

    Have you tried disabling Zemanta, which you apparently have installed? Note that the first error isn't a Zotero one, but rather a Zemanta error.

    disabled firefox add-ons zemanta, adblock, firefox synchronisation extension, zotero scholar citations, xmarks & PC Synch 2 synchronisation extension - and zotero synch worked. Still works with zemanta and adblock re-enabled

    This is on a XP PC. All the extensions, except PC Synch 2 synchronisation extension, are installed on a ubuntu laptop which has always synchronised without error.

    Sometimes there are odd add-on interactions that resolve themselves. This appears to be one such case. Glad it's working now.
