how to speed up store copy of file?

Greetings,

When i am viewing an article from science direct website for example in pdf i first save it through the acrobat reader viewer to a local windows folder and then choose the "store local copy of file" to add to zotero.

It would be great to be able to press a button like the "create new item from current page" and do all the above steps that i do manually.

    You indicated that you were new to this software in another thread. Do you realize that you can enable "automatically attach associated PDFs and other files when saving items" and click on the article icon in your addressbar that appears on that and other sites & it will automatically grab both the PDF and richer metadata than can be found from the PDF alone?

    many translators automatically attach the pdf - Sciencedirect does so in theory, but not for everyone (check that the option "attach pdf" is checked in the preferences).

    Also, if a pdf is open in a FF window using a plugin (adobe, pdf xchange or so) and you click "attach item from current page" it attaches the pdf automatically - though that is not true if the pdf is embedded in a website like many are now.

    thank you for your suggestions, sciencedirect works fine with the address bar (OvidSP though is embedding them into the website as you mentioned).
