Editing Citations, don't do it manually!
Hallo you folks,
i recently ran into a special Zotero behavior which i wasn't aware of.
I work since a long while with zotero, and have a file with some 500 footnotes by now, it's my master thesis. Ever when i've quoted something wrong or i've liked to add some sites to the quote e. g. alter 'Vanderpool 1978, 250 - 254' into 'Vanderpool 1978, 125 - 127. 250 - 254' i just added the missing pages into the OpenOffice Zoterofield. Now, after working for over 4 Month and producing footnote after footnote with i don't know how many Citations, i've figured out, that everytime i press the refresh button in my OO-plugin the quote gets reseted, this means, e. g. 'Vanderpool 1978, 125 - 127. 250 - 254' resets to 'Vanderpool 1978, 250 - 254'
So after i re-read the word-processor guide, i took notice of the edit citation button, which i've neglected so far. This Button ist for the purpose explained above. So, don't be a fool like i was and use this button instead. AND for the Zotero staff, please add a warning to the wordpress guide, maybe out there a more like me.
Regards
Nils

would be the right page i guess, after
The edit citation () and edit bibliography () buttons allow you to edit citations and bibliographies you have already inserted into your documents. Click inside a citation or bibliography and click either button to edit.
could stand, something like this:Allways use the edit button for editing citations, otherwise it will get errors during refresh
whatever, i am not a nativ english speaker, you would probably write something else, but, however, this could be helpfull, and prevent people doing the same mistake.
Thank you
Nils
