Sync error, report ID 612714243

Hi,
for a while now, I have problems with syncing. I tried to uninstall zotero and I tried to reset the library by erasing local data and restoring from the sync server. Does anybody have an idea how to solve the problem? I've got the latest version of zotero (2.0.8) but the problem has been there before.

  • Don't use the reset options unless you know exactly why you're using them—they're not meant for standard troubleshooting.

    Try the latest 2.0 Branch dev XPI and see if that fixes your problem.
  • I installed the 2.0 Branch dev XPI but the sync error is still the same. I'm just a user not a developper and greatful for simple solutions or clear descriptions.

  • The new ID is 1163521770
  • Is there a reason you're still using Firefox 3.0?
  • No. We updated to Firefox 3.6, but the error is still the same. New ID: 1148955932.
  • That's a strange error. I've put some additional logging into place on the server. Can you try again and let me know once you have?
  • I tried again to sync. The new error ID is 49427783.
  • Your username/password is incorrect. There's normally a proper error for this, but I'm guessing you changed the sync credentials in the preferences and Zotero didn't clear the active session for some reason. Restarting Firefox completely (which might mean restarting your computer or killing firefox.exe processes in Task Manager) should trigger a proper 'invalid login' message.
