Pdfs are not automatically atteched
Sorry if the solution to my problem already stands somewhere in the support, but I can't find it.
I simply want to attech PDFs to my citation and then search through the atteched PDF files. I already ticked the right button under general options and I already downloaded the two programs to index pdfs and i already tried out the advanced and basic search. But I doubt that the problem is the search function but rather that there is no pdf atteched or not indexed. Even If I attech a PDF manually Zotero doesn't show me this PDF as a result if I search for words in this PDF even though it is possible that Zotero shows me the atteched snapshot.
Has anybody an idea what I should do now?

This is an old discussion that has not been active in a long time. Instead of commenting here, you should start a new discussion. If you think the content of this discussion is still relevant, you can link to it from your new discussion.
For indexing, Zotero can only index PDFs that have embedded text. In other words, if you open the PDF in a PDF viewer, can you search for text? Again, we'd need a specific example to tell you what was happening.

and I also tried:

The PDF has an embedded text. You can find it under

But saving the PDF manually and adding it to the Zotero item should cause it to be indexed as long as you've installed the indexing tools from the Search pane of the Zotero prefs. If you click on the PDF in Zotero, what does it say next to "Indexed" in the right-hand pane?
If you're saving a PDF manually and there's not a direct link, you need to save the PDF first and then drag the PDF into Zotero.
For other sites, any normal PDF link will work as you would expect—it's just that EBSCO has an intermediate page. Some other sites have that too, but it's still an exception.
