Error Report: 915485605

  • OK, install the latest 2.0 Branch dev XPI (not the trunk), which should address the tag issue. The 2.0 dev XPI is safe to use.

We'll see what's happening after that.
  • Uploaded Zotero 2.0 Branch XPI, restarted, resynced. Offered me to an edit tags popup for tags that were too long, which I did. Got a new error: Report ID: 2126730790. Progress!

Note on bug: The popup window offered three options for editing tags: automatic splitting of tags, direct edit, and delete. I repeatedly tried the first and third, but it eventually became apparent that it was reloading the same tag, whereas the second "edit" seemed to work and provided a new tag to edit.
  • Tried again, scroll over reads: "Error processing uploaded data (Report ID: 5e64d119)"

    Error Report ID: 419517999
  • OK, try again. You should get a more helpful error message, about a too-long search condition value.

Yep, that's what I got. Error Report ID: 418965715

    Anything I can fix?
  • Yes, that's what the error message is for. You have to fix that search condition.
  • I've tried searching my tags and cannot find these long ones. Is there a way to browse tags for length?

Nothing to do with tags. It's a condition in one of your saved searches.

[Edit: Well, it's a search condition for a tag, but it's not a tag itself. The message tells you what saved search it's in.]
  • It worked!!! I'm now attempting to sync on my other computer.

    Thank you so much!!!

Got another error today, Error Report ID 1339507383.

It happened right after downloading citations from my university library. I think it has something to do with the automatic downloading of tags, so I turned off that automatic function under Options.

UPDATE: I went and deleted the tags imported with the library citations, and now the update appears to be working. I'll leave the automatic tag function unchecked.
  • There are no Zotero errors in that error report.

If you received a message about long tags, all you need to do is click the Sync button and Zotero will display a wizard to help you correct the problem. If particular translators are producing tags that are too long to sync, it's most likely a bug in the translator and the problem should be reported.
