Portable FireFox (thumb drive) error and work around.

I was trying to install Zotero on Portable FireFox RC3 (2.0) but it would not install properly whenver I tried through the Zotero site. It kept giving me a download error.

To get past it I saved the xpi file to my thumbdrive and installed it by dragging and dropping it into Firefox. Works great, so far no issues.

Now I dont need a laptop when I go to my schools library to do research. Hooray.
  • Thanks for the tip! I would have never thought to drag it over.

Using Zotero on a portable device solves the problems I've been having with using it on two computers.
  • I ran into a little error with the portable drive- my computer at home does not map to the same letter that my work computer does. I found this page that explains how to fix it, though:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844

I still won't be able to use Zotero in a computer lab until the absolute path thing is fixed, but I use one of the two computers 99% of the time.

Now I just need a bigger usb drive.
