How do you start a new note while typing in a current note?

If I'm typing in a note in the right-hand pane, is there a way to start a new note using the keyboard?

The cmd-shift-O shortcut doesn't work if I'm typing in the note (but does if I'm just browsing). Alternately, cmd-W doesn't close the existing note (unless I've clicked "Edit in a separate window").

Any mouse-free suggestions?

Thanks!

It's a little awkward, but Cmd-Shift-Z, Cmd-Shift-Z, Cmd-Shift-O does it for me. (In other words, double-press on Z, then O. You can leave Cmd-Shift pressed down.)
  • Thanks Dan :) Awkward, but it works.

Feature Request: Can Cmd-shift-O (or some other combo) be made to work while in "edit" mode?
