How to change Zotero user on same computer, login

Hi there,
I was previously doing some citation work for a lecturer on my computer login (using her Zotero ID). Now I would like to switch to my Zotero ID so that I can do my own citations on my computer. I have changed to my account details in Preferences>Sync, but when I hit the sync button I get this message (in this example my login is BBBBB, the supervisors is AAAAAA):

This Zotero database was last synced with a different zotero.org account ('AAAAAA') from the current one ('BBBBBB'). If you continue, local Zotero data will be combined with data from the 'BBBBBB' account stored on the server.

To avoid combining or losing data, revert to the 'AAAAA' account or use the Reset options in the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences.

Do I click Reset File Sync History then OK, or just click the Reset icon in Preferences>Sync>Reset? I don't want to delete anything from my supervisors account!

Sorry for the newb question, but any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
  • You should set-up separate firefox profiles

    see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/profiles
  • Thanks for this, but my work for my supervisor was a one off so don't really want to create a new profile for myself on my own computer. My supervisor has synced her computer so she has all the citations on her computer.
Basically I would like to get rid of my supervisor's info from my laptop, but just want to make sure if I hit Reset or Reset File Sync History then that won't affect her Zotero account, or the citations stored on her computer.
  • Close Firefox, go to the Zotero data directory, and delete zotero.sqlite and 'storage'. (Restore from Zotero Server would work but it would leave 'storage' with your supervisor's files in place.)
  • To clarify, though, once her credentials are gone you can no longer mess up her account. It would just mess up your by merging if you did a normal sync past that warning dialog.
  • Awesome, thanks for you help
    :)
