problems with sync - deleted items still show in online Group page

Hi again,
I'm new to this software so still trying to work my own kinks out... Forgive me if I'm repeating what has been resolved elsewhere.

While "tinkering", I accidentally added a few titles (and even one item labeled [untitled] to a shared group. I added these via the Mozilla Add-On tool. I learned of my mistakes later and opted to delete (or remove, not sure which) these titles via the Add-On - as I had added them.

Strangely, the Add-On tells me it has synced, but these titles (and the [untitled] one) still appear on the Group's web page. What can I do to remove them permanently?

    Note: They no longer appear when I do a search of "Group Libraries" via the Add-On tool, but they're plainly up there on the website. Just wanted to make that clear.

    Did you delete them from the root of the group library, or did you just remove them from collections they were in?

    And what does it say when you hover over the Sync icon in the Zotero toolbar?

    Our collections look like this...
    Group Libraries -> "AHEAD: Policy / Legislation" (folder) -> "Fencing Library" (subfolder)

    I went to the location where I added them (Fencing Library subfolder) and deleted/removed them from there; but I also went back subsequently and searched for them and made sure they were deleted/removed from the parent folder (AHEAD: Policy / Legislation).

    When I hover over the Sync icon in the Zotero toolbar, the message says "Sync with Zotero Server, Last Sync: 40 mins ago".

    You're confused about how collections work in Zotero. Removing an item from a collection is not the same as deleting it from the library.

    Or, well, possibly not, though there are no such things as "folders" in Zotero. Is "AHEAD: Policy / Legislation" the name of the group library itself, or is it the name of a collection within that library?

    No one else has reported this issue, so we have no reason to think deleting doesn't work if done correctly.

    It looks like "AHEAD: Policy / Legislation" is indeed the name of the group library you're in. Sort the library by Date Added and make sure you actually deleted what you think you deleted, and then compare the most recent items to what's on the server (which sorts by Date Added descending currently).

    Also restart Firefox and sync again.

    Thanks for the links and great helpful follow-up, Dan. Following your last suggestion above, I sorted the group library in question by Date Added, and successfully located the [Untitled] item. I deleted it from the group library (Del, as opposed to Ctrl-Del), re-synced, and the change was reflected on the group's library web page. The higher powers will be pleased! Thanks again!
