Jstor citation--do I need to use Zotero proxy system
I've been trying to grab citations from Jstor without success. When I try click the page icon for an individual citation, it creates the same file over and over to a specific journal (not the one I'm looking at). When I click the folder for group citations, it says, "an error occurred while saving this item."
I am accessing my university system by proxy, but this was not a problem when I did it at the beginning of the summer. I am using OSX 10.5.8
My apologies if this is an easily explained problem. I searched the zotero site and googled the problem to no avail.

I also don't understand how the post title relates to what you write - are you using the proxy function in Zotero or not?
My explicit example:
I have on the screen the essay, "Academic Freedom and the University of Malawi" by
David Kerr and Jack Mapanje from the African Studies Review, Sept. 2002.
When I click the page icon, Zotero creates an entry for a journal article [no name, no author] from The American Economic Review 16:4, Dec. 1926. I tried 7 articles from different journals and this same entry is created no matter what article I find in jstor.
I don't believe you would be able to access the page using the URL as it asks for log in information if you come at it from a different computer.
I have been able to add citations from ProQuest, Project Muse, etc.
I can replicate this exactly - including the old AER article.
Looks like JSTOR redesigned their page and the Zotero translator is broken completely. You'll have to wait until it's fixed - until then I suggest you use as a workaround:
Export Citation --> RIS (Endnote, ProCite, Reference Manager)

this one should be closed to avoid confusion.
